I pushed forward on all fronts. On my left that was OK and centre but my big mistake was doing so on my right. Kris had about 40 to 50% of his force not visible. His right flank was lightly guarded compared to his left, where from the woods appeared, masses of cavalry with some MF. They overwhelmed my right and swung into the centre. My left advance was stalled due to some major major heroics from disrupted and fragmented LF. It meant Kris reached the centre first and won the game. An excellent game, well played Kris.

Challenge1 Carthaginian Hannibal in Africa defeated ray552 Spartan 221-146 BC with Roman 60-40

The Spartan phalanxes were predictably strong but poor terrain and superior numbers in Cavalry enabled the Carthaginians to finally outflank the Spartans and destroy their weaker units. The battle luckily ended just as night was falling as a few more turns of dogged resistance would have forced a draw.

The Greek offence never really got going, the centre being bogged down in rough terrain and the right crumbling, once again, to superior numbers in cavalry.

The problem with that is that in the end both players lose out, with very few points. This TDC has happened to me in several battles in which I have had to advance breaking formation to avoid being at 0 or with very few points.

It was a brawl, both of our lines clashing after the initial positioning. Used more knights than I normally do, using them as a striking force rather than a flanking force, which ended up working well.

The Sarmatians tried to maneuver out the way, but the elephants ran amok among the lancers once they caught up.

Rafydedel Khazar 568-737 defeats TheBug67 Roman 425-492 + German foot tribes 42-8

On a fairly open terrain, the roman came with a compact group of infantry and two big wings of cavalry and were facing a compact Khazar cavalry army in the upper left corner with some bowmen, artillery and spearmen in the back. As light khazar horsemen were about to harass them, the roman quickly engaged their cavalry, a little two early to get proper infantry support.
