batesmotel (Hell on Wheels) defeats Challenge1 (Cry Havoc) 43-17
Thanks for a good game. The Dailami were able to seize control of a large patch of rough terrain in the middle of the battlefield and then expand from there.
The Germans were able to shoot themselves into an advantage with X-bows massed on ther right - disrupting then fragmenting the Florentine C-in-C's Swiss Pikes. But after gaining an early advantage a sterling stand by Florentine raw X-bows (fragmented they stood up two Men at Arms units for two full turns) and canny defensive use of a hill bought time for the Swiss Pikes to rally and Florentine Men at arms to get amongst the German X-bows (who unlike the Florentines had not had their weetabix) and turned the fight into a very close one. Fortunately for the Germans the initial scattering of the Florentines and the Florentine Men at Arms pursuing the routed German X-bows left the Florentine centre open to flanking after the raw X-bows eventually headed home.
Army choices made things very difficult for a cavalry heavy Ottoman force.
A hedgehog of German spears and large numbers of X-bows with light artillery manged to use a lake and village to prevent very tough light cavalry from causing too much trouble. Meanwhile without any infantry support the Ottoman cavalry were badly shot while being stonewalled by spears and Men at Arms.

Viking line held where under pressure, skirmishers soaked up a lot of missile fire without breaking and the Polish were defeated in the centre where Vikings had the advantage.
I had been pressing forward on my right with a number of advantageous combats but a WB was only able to disrupt an enemy MF unit, even though we fought for 3 or 4 turns.
The game was very close until a unit of disrupted HCH hit above WB in the flank. It disrupted it on impact, my WB held in combat and the HCH broke off? On my turn I was able to charge the HCH in the flank and rout it shortly afterwards.
If my WB had routed, I think that the game would have been very close up to the end or quite possibly Konstantin would have won by a small margin.
Tough game, as always vs Konstantin. That ends my games so thanks very much to my opponents and to the organisers
angusosborne (Herd of Kiwis) defeats Stones1985 (Armchair Heroes) 41-16
An open battlefield with very little significant terrain. I attacked on my right while my opponent attempted to swarm my left with light troops. I didn't really get to grips with anything on the left, but suffered few losses. I did slip a unit of men-at-arms around the rear and generally got good matchups on the right - I had a few more heavy foot. Felt like one of those games with a lot of little things going my way.

A hard day's work for the valkyries with 1700 brave vikings killed on the battlefield. A complicated battle decided on the last turn, with two equal armies that will be much talked about at the banquet with Odin.
