My closest game so far...
- Hutze (German Catholics 1639-48) 61% won vs guillaume (German Protestants 1639-48) 62%
The Protestants deployed most of their foot on their left on top a hill. Their horse deployed in the clear on their right. My Catholics mirrored this deployment, having on my right in front of my foot some mixed terrain of fields, woods and a village. Since the Catholic mounted force was superiour in numbers and quality I charged my left flank down the plain towards the enemy horse. The cavalry clash developed favourably for the Catholics. My infantry also shifted towards the right, concealed by the woods in the centre and began to exchange fire with the Protestants. Meanwhile the Protestants realized the predicament of their horse and countercharged the right flank of my foot. Both actions resulted in broken Protestant horse und the Catholic infantry mostly fleeing. But some veteran units where able to hold out, protecting the cavalry flanks, who wheeled around into the rear of the Protetants. Only luck gave me 1% (!) less routed troops than guillaume. This should have been a draw...
Thanks alot guillaume for this very exiting game, many nails were bitten...

Another game finished. My Protestant Germans were victorious against Deadtorius Catholics. A mostly even battle where I got some minor breakthroughs and suddenly and inexpectedly I won. I was luckier in most even combats or shooting.
Thank you Deadtorius for the game.

Panther (New Model Army) 15% beat batesmotel )Royalist 33%
I resigned at this point since the rest of the game would have been the NMA foot gunning down my remaining foot so no point in playing it out.

flatsix518 (German Catholic 1639-1648) (10%) won vs kmaher (Weimarian 1635-1643) (48%)
The two armies lined up on a billiard table and began a big volley firefight. The dice gods shredded the Weimarian army. Skill had nothing to do with it, kmaher played me dead even in generalship -- but was completely undone by a horrible run of bad gamer's dice.

Pod 1 result.
flatsix518 (Italian 1494-1530) (13%) won vs susji (French 1494-1525) (40%)
I had the advantage in army makeup. My light troops greatly attrited the French army. I eventually gained an advantage in Gendarmes as well. By the time susji could bring his pike to bear, the battle was basically over.

Re: Pike & Shot Caracole II
Yes, it was a skirmish battle. We had each other to minimize our losses to win the battle. There wasnt good conditions to assault that hill. You were very well trenched and your light inf/cavalry was too danger to give you my rear.
Very, very tactical movement skirmish battle.
