How is the scenario progressing?

Sure bite, I just was adding some "drama", lol.

The progress of the scenario is slow, actually quite frustrating for moments. The zone limitation amount is a NIGHTMARE, I have to become a magician to apply all the stuff I have in mind, in fact I think some ideas will be not included :(
Barbarossa for example, is very very difficult, because of the lack of zones availability I have to trust in the AI criteria to lead the attack in three army groups which, of course, lead to unexpected results (not to mention the air war), the VH placement help a little but not solve the issues. It is very hard to create a balance between the historic events and give the player the freedom to change them.

I think this project is going to take more time than I expected and will be completely overshadowed by the release of Soviet Corps. Anyway I will continue working on it, at least for my own fun :)

I find it helps if you use the 'Move To' command rather than 'Attacker' when you want to control an offensive. So set 1 zone for Leningrad, 1 Moscow and 1 Ukraine, then each army group should head the correct way.

Yes, but I fear the AI will ignore other objectives that not are no obstacle for the unit destination, making the scenario boring. For some special cities like Sevastopol or Leningrad I am trying to build up "special teams" with "random patrol" move.
But the root problem is the lack the zones to use I think: it does not help for a good attack scripting.

Well I suggest you look through the scripts in Battlefield Europe and see where McGuba put everything Eastern-front wise. Then all you need to do is swap the roles around :D (That should leave you with ~15 zones free, allowing for more complex stuff where you see fit)

Mhhh, I think the first part of Battlefield: Europe is far easier than mine in terms of scripting. In B:E the player commands the complex Operation Barbarossa, in my scenario I have to "guide" the enormous amount of Axis units through the URSS in three coordinated army groups.
And I have to find the balance regarding the reinforcements the player will receive... not too few, not too much. In B:E basically you have a few gifts, the rest of your units have to be upgraded, in this scenario I will try to recreate the gigantic losses of the Red Army at the beginning of the war so you will receive fresh reinforcements as battle rages on. Of course at one point you will have to take care of your precious units (as well as your cities and factories and allied convoys, only way to get prestige).... otherwise the scenario will become easy and boring.

Hi uzbek. Yes, I expect to release a new version with a lot of corrections and some new stuff. I don´t know when yet, I have a lot of work to do with the new scenario and want some more feedback from my campaign.

Meanwhile in the Finland borders the Finnish and SS Divisions advance into Soviet territory trying to cut the Murmansk railway:

And in the south, in Ukraine near the Stalin Line my armor counter attack was not so effective:

Hi Akkula ! Your mod is one of the best (especially since you made it possible to play in Soviet the company forward by the developers themselves , who still occupied what else ) but alas it is not yet finalized ) Other ways to avoid mistakes but the constant test missions I unfortunately do not know )
Image

----CALLING TO ARMS----
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

Hi friends. In the next one or two weeks I will have a very early version of The Great Patriotic War scenario ready to be "alpha tested", I need volunteers (two or three, no more) who desire to play it and report me bugs, errors, ideas, etc. At this stage I want to know how many things have escaped from my sight or if I am taking the wrong direction in terms of playability, fun or realism before its too late to correct it/them.
Please anyone who is interested in help (or try something big and new :) ) send me PM so I can explain further details of this test (during the test I want to manage all the feedback by PM to avoid obvious spoilers).

Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Akkula.
