Gents,

Individually most of you (all Allied players except Random, who's been happy with everything from day 1 ) asked me to persuade Granfali to give us Resupply, Medic & Rally bonuses, and each of you (except Random) said don't change the Arty. Some of you also asked for smokey mortars, unit swap and wider deployment areas. So, hopefully, you're happy with what you've got now...

Sorry guys. My fault is when I've been asked to represent folks and they ask/tell me stuff, then I'll stand their corner to explain why my guys are right. If somebody tries to convince me of something with data that is wrong, I want to provide a balanced picture. But yes, to be honest, I too am frustrated that we're not getting anywhere and GJS hasn't progressed since Gort finished Hermanville 2 or 3 days ago...

I think it's wise for me to stand down as Allied Commander (hey, when you lose your troops' confidence it's better to head for the hills, before they mutiny and string you up, lol )... but, of course, I'm happy to play this wonderful campaign (something I've always stressed throughout)... so I accept Granfali's original offer to be a German... I expect that means that Granfali & I will play together versus the Allied team (where it has long made sense for the Germans to have more than 1 player)... so G & I will learn to play as mates pretty darned quickly...

Good luck gentlemen... It's been an enormous pleasure... As Granfali writes, it won't be a picnic as the Germans, but I hope to give you guys some fun challenges in the coming battles... and, I promise, you won't hear a peep out of me on any further mods to GJS... I accept whatever Granfali wants...

Jon, it is not a lack of confidence, I have all the confidence in you and your abilities. Speaking for myself, I guess I was just getting tired of the banter and not seeing much to show for it. In the end I was just ready to get back to the fight!

I am sorry to see you go as our comander, you were doing great for us! You did go to bat for us and I appreciated it and then let you down by questioning you. I offer my apology and hope it will not affect us playing in the future.

Hehe, no worries Al... I totally get it and I appreciate your comments... I guess some of us (mostly me, for which huge sorry too! ) were getting a little off topic and being too greedy in trying to fix too much, too fast... The important thing is let's get back and play... Everything else will figure itself out as we go along... Looking forward to battling it out with you and the guys on the fields of Normandy

PS. As you know, I've been experimenting with some of Merr's deployment code, which Richcat managed to find for us... We may have solved our dual-side deployment challenge for GJS... It's not as slick as the usual BA way, but it's almost as good and it does work... It even lets you unload/preload transports with the units that you want, before (both) sides take their first move...

Once we've got June 8th maps up, email me the new core GJS folder.
I'll add mods for swap, smokey mortars, correct deployment zones and dual deploy...
Meanwhile, rest, drink plenty of fluids, rest more... the guys want you better so that they can thrash us, lol!!

Hey Mike, Email Granfali that you're ready to swap. He's usually pretty quick. Typically he'll send you his orders in a password-locked file within 24 hours of receiving your email that you're ready...
