I look at a DBM game...and think "what a mess".
In the beginning Barker said let there be light and big long battle lines came into being. Then the devil got hold of his toy and single elements became very powerful so split off and did their own thing.

Indeed. FoG, DBM/M and WRG 7th/Warrior reflect substantially differing perspectives on gaming and ancient-medieval warfare. Each has its cadre of devoted adherents. For attracting new players and converts, a 'big tent' approach would probably be the most effective one, methinks. :)
