By the way what years have you done for the Brits and US? So far I've seen you post screenshots of the Brits in 1940 and in 1944, any idea about 41 - 43 and 45?

The US West Front mod covers 1944 to 1945 in France/Germany.

The British West Front mod covers 1940 to 1945 in France/Germany. Obviously from July 1940 to May 1944 it is mainly for hypothetical battles, but the unit availability has been worked out accurately for the whole time period.

There may eventually be a separate Skirmish mod (or mods) for the fighting in Italy 1943 to 1945, and for the North African campaigns, but don't hold your breath for those!

Understood. Another question, will the Sherman Rhino be available for the Americans (It's the Sherman with the hedgerow cutters, I encountered a few in Merr's Quickbattles and from what I recall they're basically like the PT-34)?

Yes. They are already in the Cold War 46 Skirmish Mod. I had to include Amaris' Engineering mod to enable them to actually cut hedgerows.

Really? I may have glossed over them when I was looking at the units available to the US in the mod. I know for certain that the Americans also have access to the Calliope and Jumbo, so it wouldn't surprise me that I would gloss over another Sherman variant.

I mean, there's technically a lot of possibilities for mods, like having the French added (both the regular army and the FFI/Vichy French) or adding "Beutepanzers" to the German arsenal, but I will agree with you on refraining from holding my breath on those, since undoubtedly there is a lot of work that goes on with getting these mods put together. I'm no expert at coding and modding, but I would assume that it isn't any cakewalk.

Screenshot from Paul59's forthcoming BA2 British West Front mod, a French CharB Flamethrower in German colours makes an appearance in Aug 1944, not something you'd like to meet on a dark night..

I find it funny that the Char bis tanks have "no turret" as a trait, despite the fact that the tank itself has a turret. Part of me thinks the reason it operates like it has no turret is because of that hull-mounted gun it has (or flamethrower in this case, though the Churchill Croc has a hull-mounted flamethrower AND it has a turret that can shoot), or simply because the 47mm gun in the turret is irrelevant. Either way, it's jarring to see a heavy tank act as a tank destroyer.

If you mean you're waiting for Slitherine to host them, why wait?
After all, I've been downloading your mods from Mediafire just fine, so why don't you just carry on using Mediafire?

`

Because it will have to uploaded to Slitherine at some point anyway, if only so that iPad users can access it. I don't want to go through all the work of uploading to Mediafire at a time when I am extremely busy working on other things. Of course, if the Slitherine server option fails to materialise I will have to use Mediafire links, but I would prefer not to give myself extra work.

I don't really see the hurry, most mods for other games take years to develop, just go on the Total War modding forums and see how long some have been in preparation. A few days wait for mine should be no big deal.

Besides, while you may be fine with installing mods manually, it is beyond others. I have regular problems with FOG2 users who cannot work out how to install the TT Mod, I don't really want to get into the same situation with Battle Academy 2.

Ok fine, if you're positive that Slith will get around to hosting them we don't mind waiting a bit longer..:)

Take your time Paul, I'm still slogging through your other mods and trust me, you've made a lot of content for the folks to play with while you're still working on the newer mods. Also I'm happy the Hotchkiss is back (Shame the S35 isn't though even though the R35 is (presumably) part of the Axis forces). As much as I'd like to ask you what you plan on doing next after these mods, I feel like I'd be asking too much from you given you work hard enough as is to make these things a reality. So if you need to take a break for a bit, go right on ahead. Like I said, you've practically made a few months-worth of mods that would give us something to play around with for quite a long while (especially the Enhanced skirmish mod, which is a Godsend in of itself given how I found it absurd I'd be able to have up to 8 KV-2s but only 1 T-34 in my arsenal, or having 11 Nashorns but only 2 Panzer IVs in an attack scenario).

Yes Paul59, I personally would like to thank you for all your fine mods across the many games here on Slitherine. For what it's worth PipFromSlitherine, I think you should give Paul59 an official shoutout for his outstanding contributions to this community. I really look forward to these 2 upcoming mods of yours, as BA1 was sorely lacking the skirmish option. Thanks again.
Cheers
Alex
