As always, everything looks excellent, Nico...

By the way... what is the meaning of "Panzer General (TBD)"? Is this a new, separate campaign title? :-)

Thanks a million!

TBD: to be decided, the ETA that is.
The Korsun pocket scenario is done for AG: The Soviet campaign, next up is Minsk 44. For the ETA i am still smack on schedule :)

Thanks for this!

I really hated how original AC did no justice to American troops. Esp. if you play on FM and experience is gained twice as slowly as normal. Americans cannot catch up to Brits by no means. Not to mention that in general American units are weaker compared to the British ones (planes excluded), so this is a good and realistic thing. Also I believe that there is no way that all American troops coming to the front were completely inexperienced.

The amount of core units is the same for the British and Americans. The second part will come in a version to import the British core, the other the American core. The units of the other Allied nation either US or UK will be purchaseable too but at least there is the choice whether you want to do so or not. The second part might even be more challenging with an all American core.
The question was raised why the Americans in North Africa only contains two scenarios; that is because in Allied General the Americans only had two missions on its own, before joining the British in Tunesia.
I suppose the tweaked gamerules is the only decent choice to catch up a bit with the hardened British veterans. The Soviet campaign also contains a tweaked gamerules file but not so excessive as for the Americans.

Played a couple of the Brits in Africa scns. Difficulty General, 1.20 rules.

Very entertaining, caused a nice bit of AG nostalgia. Got my behind handed to me in scn 2 - no way to stop the axis. Didn't try another playthrough for lack of time tho...Fortunately the campaign didn't end there, so for the other scns incl. Mareth Line I made victories easily mostly. Prestige was ok - tight at the start, which is of course expected, later enough.

Just noticed the AI seemed to be very keen on spamming units in some scns, esp. 8rad recon which it got ca. half a dozen during that scn #2 or Italian L33 tankettes at the end of Mareth Line.

Having not played AC so far I needed a while to adapt to the allies, and had to find out the hard way that some units don't stand a chance vs. axis equipment (early SP "portee" AT for example), while others seem the best choice almost every time (Churchills). Overall a nice, albeit short experience, didn't notice any wrong things or "bugs" :)

Thanks for the feedback :)

Allied General was not so easy back in those days and required thorough planning. The major difference here is in the hands of the SE units (which can be disbanded easily for those who don't want them). I tried to keep unit spamming reasonable but Allied or Panzer General without a bit of unit spamming wouldn't be the same. I still hope for the idee to be implemented that in the editor you can "tell" the AI which units to purchase and which not.
Some of the vanilla units i didn't purchase either, they are just good to be blown to bits. I only bought mechanised AT versions, not the propelled or portee versions.

Hey Nikki great little campaign for US troops!

I really liked the 2 scenarios. Overall I like the phase where I struggle to build good core from the scratch. Later on 5 stars are not that fun :) Also I like how there are not too many units on the map. Somehow managing smaller cores can be much more fun then micromanaging gazillion units. Also I must say Kasserine pass felt like movie 300 a bit :)

The only thing I disliked is the shortness of campaign. Although historically wise there where not many battles in Tunisia anyways. One last question though. How many scenarios are you planning for Allied General Allies in Europe? I hope there will be at least 10 scenarios for this last part of the campaign :)

The number of scenarios is the exact number of scenarios as it was in the original Allied General. The original maps are converted to Panzer Corps and then i tweak the units (not their experience) and prestige settings. The number of core units is exactly the same as it was in the original. This version does come with a bit of flavor, with a few new Panzer Corps units and SE units. Perhaps i might throw in a couple of capturables for Allied General in Europe. I haven't checked yet how many scenarios there were in Allied General: The Allies in Europe.

The Soviets campaign of Allied General is a campaign of 17 scenarios. The conversion for Panzer Corps will hold the same number of scenarios and number of core units. I did insert into this edition 4 SE units, 2 prototypes (Il-2/Yak-9) and 2 capturables (Tiger I and Tiger II). There are two scenarios left to do (Lake Balaton and Berlin).

I wish to share a couple of replays. Remember, replays must be placed in your \documents\mygames\panzer corps\Replay folder. A replay can be accessed by clicking on "load a game" and then by clicking on the upper right corner "replays".
My play of the Grand Campaign will take a very long time...but finally i played one more mission: Minsk '41 from the official DLC '41 East.
Secondly, the first beta test of the Warsaw scenario from the original Panzer General, with the map done by Rezaf. As you will see, i added a few of the vanilla units of the Panzer Corps equipment file.
And last but not least, the release version of the first scenario of Allied General: The Soviet campaign.

Allied General: the Soviet campaign is available for download: http://www.streitmacht.com/downloads.ph ... l&df_id=13
The first post of this thread has been actualised as well.

Important to know: There are no Soviet medals nor hero pictures. That should be working properly once the official Soviet Corps has been released. Hopefully then also, i will be able to replace Lvov with the Mannerheim Line scenario (specific units) as i want to keep this mod GME free.

The download includes the campaign flowchart!

Great campaign for Soviet side!

For some reason I find this shorter type of campaigns more appealing. Also the amount of units is very nice.

For some reason I find nurturing a gigantic core much less appealing and tiresome. I mostly forget how many units I have in that case, which heroes I have, and even I forget when I loose core units. My ideal core is up to 20, 25 units at max. AC demonstrates optimal number of units in pretty good fashion. Auxiliaries are not a problem.

That is why I put LoV on pause (although it is a great mod). I play this instead as I can complete scenarios in about an hour which is optimal, while first few LoV scenarios took me about 4 hours per scenario which is time I cannot afford easily.

Thanks :)

For LoV Ultimate i foresee a max core of 25-30 units (SE units not included) and a much greater role for auxiliaries. Not all capturables will join the core army either.

Being too busy with a lot of things at the same time, i nearly forgot about Allied General: The Allies in Europe. I will commence with that last part, after i finished the 3rd part of Roma Victor! 2.

When you will start AG: Allies in Europe, you will be prompted to import your British or American core into that campaign. Due to GUID related issues, the mod will have two variants but will work independently from each other; one version will import your British core, the other verion your American core. In both versions, units will be purchaseable from both nations.

The path for this one (on XP anyway) is:

Open My Documents, then My Games, then open the Panzer Corps folder, inside that you should have a folder called Mods (if its not there make one, but remember to use capital M for Mods. Put the Allied General Soviet mod file inside this and Bob's your uncle

Hope this helped :) and Niki, thanks for yet another of your superb creations :D :D :D
