You are one brave trooper! I must say you are bold to go against me with such confidence! But you haven't seen anything until you fought Cavehobbit. While I may be elite he is nothing short of a Champion! He is one of the only true players I don't want to face off in.... Should my Blitz not finish you off, trust me he willprotectivedaddy wrote:My men are always battle ready Mr Marine, if you ever summon the courage the face me in battle it shall be epic..........the humiliation that you will suffer.![]()

Besides I'm already a superb allied player. As the Germans I use major Guerrilla Warfare tactics and I have been know to bled out lots of troops this way. And a new killer tactic that destroys entire armored columns....... Should you best me on both factions then you can move on to other elites! (Your probably gonna face off with them in GJS anyway)

Re: Scheldt Multiplayer Campaign - Phase 1 Rush!
3 out of the 4 maps are complete! Next one might be the hardest...... I hope you like Urban warfare with long slugfests in the streets (I love them
as long as I'm defending
)
And for those of you who played the first map, yup this is the German offensive to recapture Hoggerheide from the Canadians. While the axis have a very strong force, the Canadians have 3 Priests in reserve! I wonder how this will play out

Are you going to test those maps before issue. If so I can think of a couple of volunteers

Re: Scheldt Multiplayer Campaign - Phase 1 Rush!
Yes mr Marine, me and guardsman will be your guinea pigs to test your new scenarios.
The latest map looks mouth wateringly good, though you've said its the third did you release the second or will you be releasing the next 3 all together.......if they're anything like scheldt they will be fantastic battles.
Banter aside, Mr Marine you and cave hobbit in my opinion are what keeps BA alive........I rarely play any other battle maps these days (though with server issues I'm not playing much of anything at the minute)...........maybe slitherine should think about putting you 2 on the payroll, at least then your excuse for not facing me could be staff aren't allowed to play in live matches......

All four maps in Phase 1 will be released in the next update. If all works well it should be at the end of this week.
Really nice to hear you like the first map and looking forward to the next ones.

Due to technical difficulties the next version will be released without the codes. We fell we have kept you waiting for too long
we will then begin to work on making these codes work!

Here's the last look at Phase 1, the most beautiful map yet, Bergen Op Zoom. A battle for a Port town necessary to cut off the German once and for all. Gee I wonder what this reminds me of? A little place in Sicily I remember
hopefully it's not as brutal this time!

Re: Scheldt Multiplayer Campaign - Phase 1 is Ready!
In the latest release (v. 0.7B) there are four scenarios. The first scenario (Woensdrecht-Hoogerheide) has been play tested and we think it's quite balanced (but we've done some minor changes...
), but scenario 2-4 (Black Friday, Counter-Stoke and Bergen-op-Zoom) have not been play tested at all. Therefore we ask you to concentrate on following:
* Check balance of the forces. Any thoughts/ideas are welcome.
* Number of turns. Are the scenarios too long or too short?
* Bonuses. We plan to remove the Rally bonus from all scenarios as the leaders will have this ability in the next release (and therefore the leaders in this release don't have much effect...)
* Deployment zones. Are they ok? In Counter-Stroke they are a bit special as the intent is to try and simulate a German ambush.
For you used to the original BA you might find some things a bit strange (here are some examples):
* Unit sizes. Infantry units have in general more men than in the original BA: Infantry/engineers etc. 8 men; Scouts 3 men (and has reduced shooting range (2 tiles)); HMG/LMG 4 men (HMG (and AT guns) can be 'pushed' one tile, but not shoot after this move); Panzerschreck 3 men; Mortars 3 men.
* Unit morale. In general increased to allow infantry units to shoot at each other more.
I will add more to this list later...
Thanks for helping us play test the scenarios!
Cheers,
P-A

Hi P-A
I'm a little confused where release v 0.7B is located for downloading? You guys have so many threads over in BETA, lol...

Re: Scheldt Multiplayer Campaign - Phase 1 is Ready!
So far all maps are looking damn fine.
Guardsman and myself are just entering the combat stage.........a lot of movement phases before you see combat but it's well worth it.
Each map plays very differently, and again each map leaves a lot of scope for tactical adjustment.........there is a good chance no 2 battles will play out the same.
Think you 2 have created BA gold with these four maps.
From experience it's going to take five or so games on each map before you start figuring out your best approach and initial layout.
Can't wait to battle the masses on these, and come on Mr Marine I challenge thee to any of these new maps.
