frankpowerful (neapolitans) 22/39 beats Benbix 38/35 (Milan condotta)
this was my final match of the tournament and i still think the turning point was the inability of my troops in looting TJD's camp, resulting in a draw
It was very interesting and i enjoyed all games very much, except with pete, who is too strong for me with this sort of armies
for the future, i'd suggest to use at least 600 pts armies
cheers to all

Table
1. Frankpowerful 5-10
2. Benbix 4-9
2. stockwellpete 4-9
4. TJD 5-7
5. RussProv 2-0
5. macnab 4-0
My game with Russ is underway, so that just leaves Benbix v RussProv and macnab v RussProv to complete the tournament. Still three possible outright winners plus the possibility of joint winners too! How exciting! And all for a piece of melon!

it seems that russ has become very game lazy latelystockwellpete wrote:Oh, have I?omarquatar wrote:hello pete, i know you have won the tournament, but we never got the final resultsAs far as I know RussProv is in the middle of his two games against Benbix and macnab. If Benbix wins then he will be joint winner with me. If it is a draw or RussProv wins then I will be the winner. I'm losing sleep over this, I'm telling you!

I am quite happy to have joint winners really, Benbix - it is only a "friendly" tournament, after all. Would that be OK with everyone?Benbix wrote:My game with Russ has become a bit of a siege, we had a brief skirmish before he bunkered down on top of a cliff behind a river. There's still a couple of turns left I reckon.
stockwellpete, if I come out on top of RussProv, shall we play a tie-breaker?
Benbix
There are two other ways to split players who finish on equal points. One is to go to the game between the two tied players and see who won that - in which case Benbix would be the outright winner this time. The other is to calculate the difference between break points won and lost for both players (like goal difference in football) - in which case I think I might turn out to be the winner as I have had a couple of quite big wins and only a narrow defeat. But as I didn't specify either of these methods, or the provision of a play off match, before the tournament started, then I think joint winners would be the most appropriate outcome this time.
Which of the three methods for resolving ties should I use in subsequent tournaments though? Or should I stick with having joint winners if it happens again (quite likely, I suppose).
My next invitation tournament will start at the beginning of August and will be set in Spain.
