- install FoG (main game installer)
- update FoG (RoR may require a certain updated FoG version in order to can be installed)
- install RoR
[- install SoA]
[- install IF]
- put the latest offline patch
- start the game and get the latest online patch
Good news! It's working (I think - I need a DAG turn to play to be sure and I'm waiting on 2 players for that).
What I did was:
- Delete all registry entries
- Searched for "Glory" and deleted all folders and the data in them.
- Reinstalled field_of_glory_1.01
- Reinstalled rise_of_rome_1.1.0
- Reinstalled field_of_glory_fullpatch_1.3.3
- Run the program and run the online updater (now patched to 1.3.5)
I suggest the bit in blue is stickied for people who need to reinstall the game. (obviously make the expansions bit more generic for those that have IF, SoA, etc.)
One useful thing I found in the process of deleting all the folders and files was a file called Field of Glory Setup Log.
I looked at this and found the following...

Edited: To replace user name.
There’s lots of successful installs later on, but it looks to me like the original install failed and I suspect that this was the problem (I think I cancelled it because I didn’t have the serial number at this point).
I hope this next point is taken in the right spirit....
I suggest that for future help request that Slitherine Techies can request to see this and maybe this will pinpoint the problem much more easily.
