On a Bye is it not possible to give the remaining player an average win... (total players win score divided by players)?

Then it would be easy to giver the missing player a loosers score as well... minus 5 as a penlty.

I'd agree. No offense to anyone, but entering a tourney means some level of commitment. Given that (at least in this case) you have the dates involved beforehand, one should be able to figure out if one can be there throughout. Obviously real life can and does happen, but in that case forfeiting the tournament itself seems fair.
On a sidenote, if this had been a TT competition over a weekend, this wouldn't be an issue, so why would it be here?
* If a player runs out of time their opponent shoudl get 100% on the enemy army as kills, but retain their own losses. So if you time out with an almost draw, the winning player will nto get 25/0 score, but more like 13/12 taking in to account the losses the winner had recived up to that point.

Not a bad idea, since it also means that manipulating games are impossible.
Plus it means that if the leading player drops out due to unforeseen circumstances, there won't be the same hiccup in standing, such as a 'bad' player suddenly shooting to the top 3.
* If someone knows they will miss a round they should retire in advance so the draw can drop them out.
Well....yes.
Can only speak for myself, but I'd file that one under 'common courtesy'.

Nuff said

Lars

NB: Please note that I use the term 'bad player' as a way to differentiate between the carnivorous sharks and the rest of us mere mortals.
I consider myself to be one of the bad ones. :)
I've got two words for ya: Math is hard.
