I also noticed that the inital loading of a scenario does take longer but I did not experience any lag though I only played a few SCW maps.nexusno2000 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:42 am I'm experiencing quite a bit of lag when loading new missions under the new patch. The briefing comes up and everything is frozen for a little while. Anyone else getting this?
Edit:
It actually takes quite a bit longer to load each scenario, then the loading screen gets stuck for a while, and THEN the briefing comes up and is stuck for another little while.
Quite noticeable - and VERY annoying.

I can't seem to find the link to download this new patch. Was it taken down recently? The info about it is at the start of this thread, but can't find the link anywhere.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - v1.02.01 Update
I have noticed this for a while. It is still occurring after the patch, though maybe not as much as before. I haven't played enough to make that determination to be certain. I think it is related to the graphics engine, but that's just a hunch, not based on any hard data/information.nexusno2000 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:42 am I'm experiencing quite a bit of lag when loading new missions under the new patch. Well i experience this aswell. Im not sure if the Cache size might affect this. I used the "clear chache" function in the options other menu, and i went worse. But that might be just something random and not related to the cache.

If you delete the cache then load the same mission again it will always be slower .. the function of the cache is to reduce load times.

I know, but it went really worse after clearing the cache. The idea/question is, might it be helpful to increase the cache size ?

I noticed another post asking this as well, but no response. How does one access and change advanced option between scenarios?Kerensky wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 6:20 pm By the way
This change is huge, it deserves an extra highlight. You can almost entirely reconfigure your campaign mid-playthrough now, which is insane to think about the possibilities!- It is now possible to access and change advanced options between scenarios in a campaign

Thanks for this. This is good but I was hoping that we could also change the traits between scenarios.

Hero assignment:Kerensky wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 3:26 amI have a theory.
What is the difference between an established scenario and a brand new creation? Established scenarios tend to be bulked out.
The LUA files for established scenarios tend to be huge, with many extra utility functions and other things going on in them. For example Rzhev42, the very first scenario of Axis Operations 1942, has a script file that is 780 lines long.
I wonder if there is some utility function in these scenarios that is lacking in smaller/newer scenarios. Something that didn't used to be necessary for hero assignments to work, but now does require it....
A possible solution could be that in the future you can assign heroes to a unit that is already placed on the map. Currently, hero assignment only works for units in the "pool" or for spawned units.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - v1.02.01 Update
- It is now possible to specify the size of limited stock using a slider. It is no longer fixed to 20 points per unit type per scenario.
Does this also have effect on the AI?
I am playing SCW with limited stock and I get the feeling, the enemy is far weaker than before. Either he is out of prestige, or he got no units left for repairs.
Especially my spanish infantry struggles with limited stock. After a few rounds the AI cant repair and starts senseless attacks. Good for my prestige on the other hand

Problem fixed!
The cause of the problem is called the "deployment phase". Heroes can consequently only be assigned during the deploy action. Only the developer knows why this has worked without errors up to now. In any case, you have to make sure that the buttons for the deployment for your core troops have been clicked in the scenario parameters for each scenario, apparently it doesn't matter for the opponents.
