Is there ANYONE left out there who still thinks troops evading off table should only lose 1AP ..?

Also, I suspect those hanging on for draws dont quite understand how the 25-0 scoring system works. In the game I lost, both sides were 1AP from breaking (I'd lost 14/15, Pedro had lost 11/12). I lost the last AP when trying to charge down some janissary bowmen with superior legionaries (and an IC!) and getting shot to fragged in 2 rounds of shooting, but this only really gave Pedro an extra 5 points - I think I still got 9 or 10 points out of it.

I just finished 5 out of 6 games at the weekend in Roma with a nearly all foot army..
How long was each game and did you rush through? Its good you managed to finish that many but I find that very difficult to do in the UK.
To add to Tim's post I finsihed 3 from 5 at the Challenge and 5 from 6 at the IWF, but only 1 from 4 at Rampage (but that may have had a bit to do with format and more to do with the fact I'd never used the army or chariots before  )

Nik is very much in the 2AP for evades off table camp - and was when regularly using Seljuqs :D

You could also force "fast" armies to win in a certain number for rounds.

What's a fast army? Shooting stuff with LH is not fast. Hitting stuff with elite legio is.

Objectives

Post by CharlesRobinson »

Some game systems have objectives that you must capture and hold to win. This seems to work well because it forces the two competitors to "come out of the corners fighting" so to speak. I am not sure how well this would apply to FOG Ancients though. Just a thought.
