I agree with you, but it's intended, not casual. We are looking for a system where there aren't BG you can sacrifice (so I use standard attrition point to determine when you start to test and rout of any BG triggers the test) but when your army need to test you must consider only casualties, not BGs fled due to their tactic, or BGs fragged who are more difficult to evaluate than rout ones. In this way we want to simulate mental state of fighters who determine their situation making a comparison between wins and losses during the battle.
