  • Update - various units revised
  • Update - Scenario "Poland" revised
  • Update - Scenario "Low Countries" revised

Greetings from AKRebel
It would be useful to add this kind of file(Changelog, Version History, whatsnew...) in future updates
It does not require much work and gives a more professional touch
I have all the updates from the beginning but I don’t remember the changes :(

The scale of the big scenarios is perfect. It is absolutely brilliant to see an entire army laid out in their operational zone yet there is still enough room for maneuver (depending on terrain of course). It is a wonderful education on the composition of these historical armies, along with getting a glimpse into what the historical leadership was thinking, while creating the opportunity for decisions to be made in how you approach your objectives (will you flank them by making a wide arc, etc.). At times in the past, when the scales for the scenarios seemed unsuitable, the units became really congested and the only choice was to plow straight ahead (still required strategy but there were not many decisions to make).

I just saw the movie for the surrender of Warsaw. The quote that accompanied it said something to the effect of “...the defenders fought bravely”. What a Vast amount of Dignity and Respect in that statement. You guys are legends. Everything about this mod is honorable. It is like a digital shrine to the people who came before us, regardless of politics, who had to go through this period of history. Even the video of Hitler flying over Warsaw was rare and haunting. It did not look like a propaganda piece and I do not know how to describe his expression (not happy, was he thinking about France and Britain?). And SO MUCH destruction beneath him. To think a lot of the continent would come to look like that within the next 5 years.

This Mod really is something to learn from.

Various units revised.....does this mean I need to restart a new campaign? I will use cheat codes to move past Poland and set up the kills, exp., back to what they should be. I noticed every update comes with a equip file.

Also, I don’t seem to have images for most of my fighters and my first hero. Is this something being worked on or should they be there and I corrupted something on my end.

Thank you

I have a question, does any of you have access to a detailed map, a list of units used in the 1939-40 Winter War? I mean Finnish units.
I already have Soviet armies, from 7 near Leningrad to 15 near Murmansk.
There is no Order de battle on the wiki :(

I am now working on a new scenario and such data is necessary to accurately reproduce this episode.
Thanks, AJS81

In 1942, he had to get dirty in the trial of the participants of Operation Pastorius. In June 1942, Admiral Canaris sent eight saboteurs to the United States with the task of carrying out a number of sabotages at American enterprises and power plants.

The name, by the way, is quite pretentious and meaningful. Franz Pastorius was the name of the head of the first colony of Germany in America. In the seventeenth century. Canaris reported with this operation that "we have returned to American soil."

2.) Every fighter, except for the Henschels and 109a, does not have a picture. This is a rare occurrence in the other categories. My first hero is without a picture and is named Sieler 0. This PAK mod is installed on a separate Panzer Corps install. There is no GME, I just merge the updates with the older folders/files. The pictures do not come up with my save game or a new game. The png.s are in the graphics folders and properly named in the equipment file. It is odd but not a problem. I was just curious.

I used GME on my primary installation and the results are exactly the same.

If the photos are still missing after that, it would be helpful to use scene shots for further analysis, in which the problem becomes more visible.

It has to be something on my end (I am playing on Ubuntu 20.04 with WINE so I am just grateful I can play this amazing mod, everything is secondary to the history and strategy contained within it). No worries and I thank you for looking into it, for your response, and for your hard work in creating this amazing mod.

Finally finished both Kursk and Operation Bagration. Kursk was very polished and had a great attention to detail. The Soviet AI was competent in its defense and eventual counter-attack with the exception of leavening several lines of trenches vacant. Germany in this scenario has a big upper hand though. The Soviets have no reliable way of countering German tanks with the exception of the Panzer III (probably because of the exp difference and the number of Panthers and Tigers present). German anti-tank guns having the ability to attack without being counter-attacked is also very broken. The Fw-190 can one shot any Soviet aircraft and can negate Soviet air superiority early on. The Luftwaffe at this point shared air parody with the Red Airforce so is it possible to reflect that by giving an exp penalty or disabling elite reinforcements from 1943 and onward? Bagration was a very fun and challenging scenario against overwhelming odds. At this point of the campaign though I had too much prestige to burn to the point that I could theoretically afford a tank force comprising of only Tiger II’s and still reinforce all understrength German units. Mabey have it so you can’t reinforce the understrength auxiliary forces and tone down the amount of prestige gained by capturing objectives. The Soviet AI seems to struggle a lot in this scenario. The AI simply doesn’t know how to use HQ units and bridge engineers. Because of this they send them in mass suicide charges as they are the first ones to be moved. Without a way to cross the river they get bottlenecked and their advantage in numbers gets negated as you grind them one by one. Besides this the scenarios works perfectly fine and Bagration is probably my favorite from the entire campaign. Thank you for the amazing work and have a good one!

"The Kremlin is in the sights": what saved Moscow from total destruction from the air
Image
But the Luftwaffe command's plan didn't work. By that time, the deployment of the echeloned Moscow air defense zone had already been fully completed. More than 500 air surveillance, warning and communication posts 200-250 kilometers from the city center informed the headquarters in advance of the approach of enemy aircraft, and the fighters had time to intercept. The sky of the capital was protected by more than 600 aircraft, 1,044 anti-aircraft guns, 336 anti-aircraft machine guns, 618 anti-aircraft searchlights and 124 barrage balloons.
Masking was widely used in the city. Trees and roofs were painted on the streets and squares, the golden domes of the Kremlin cathedrals were painted in camouflage tones, the red stars on the Kremlin towers were wrapped in tarpaulins, and contrasting stripes were applied to its walls, giving them the appearance of ordinary residential buildings. Lenin's Mausoleum on Red Square was closed with shields so that from the air it looked like a two-story house. Platforms with models of buildings anchored to the Moskva River were brought out.
Soviet anti-aircraft gunners guard the Moscow sky during the Great Patriotic War -
Soviet anti-aircraft gunners guard the Moscow sky during the Great Patriotic War
On the approaches to the city, eight new RUS-2 radars were operating, scanning the western and southern directions. It was one of these stations on July 21 at 21:00 that reported the approach of a large group of bombers.
"The enemy flew very brazenly that night," recalled Soviet test pilot Mark Gallai, who participated in repelling the raid. - Hitler's bombers went at low altitudes -two, three, four kilometers at most. It was as if they did not even in their thoughts admit the possibility of active resistance on our part. A few days later it turned out that this was the case. The captured pilots from the downed German planes said that, according to their intelligence, with which they were familiarized before departure, they should not have met a serious air defense system and, in particular, organized night fighter aircraft over Moscow."

It's actually not that easy)
In the Finnish army, the battalion was the basic element.
They had a huge number of them, it can be misleading. If you only count the Finnish divisions.
Many battalions were created during the war. They were constantly changing their location. They had a confusing numbering. There could be 3-4 different battalions with one number.
In addition, battalions are difficult to compare directly with Soviet divisions.
Therefore, I would recommend looking at the entire course of hostilities. If you dive into this in detail. There were good books on this topic, but I don't remember now)

ajs81 wrote: Thu Oct 07, 2021 9:25 am I have a question, does any of you have access to a detailed map, a list of units used in the 1939-40 Winter War? I mean Finnish units.
I already have Soviet armies, from 7 near Leningrad to 15 near Murmansk.
There is no Order de battle on the wiki :(

I am now working on a new scenario and such data is necessary to accurately reproduce this episode.
Thanks, AJS81
It's actually not that easy)
In the Finnish army, the battalion was the basic element.
They had a huge number of them, it can be misleading. If you only count the Finnish divisions.
Many battalions were created during the war. They were constantly changing their location. They had a confusing numbering. There could be 3-4 different battalions with one number.
In addition, battalions are difficult to compare directly with Soviet divisions.
Therefore, I would recommend looking at the entire course of hostilities. If you dive into this in detail. There were good books on this topic, but I don't remember now)
Chapter 5. Fake Armies

In historical literature, the Finnish war is described in such a way that one cannot help remembering the feat of 300 Spartans led by Tsar Leonid. Officially, six armies were operating against Finland. Only the number of rifle divisions participating in the battles exceeded fifty. It is widely believed that in the winter war, the Soviet troops who fought at the front had a large numerical advantage over the Finnish troops, and despite this, they still lost the battles. In fact, on the battlefield, as a rule, Finnish troops had numerical superiority, and often, despite this, they could not offer proper resistance. Why did the war get such a distorted description of events? Who benefited from it? And why is there still no proper investigation of the events of the winter war?
