There is simply more ways to program the AI in PanzerCorps 2. You have more tactics at your disposal to implement. However, it is still limited in intelligence. If the programmers would let us assign traits to the AI we could improve its performance more but that is not a feature available at this time.PWHERREN wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 5:22 pm Was it just my imagination, or was the AI significantly more aggressive in your Grand Campaign, compared to the original PanzerCorps1?
If so, was that on purpose? Was it the result of settings decisions you made, or is the AI in PanzerCorps2 simply more aggressive?
[I liked the aggressive nature of the AI. Made it harder, which is always good!]

I just got to 'Stalingrad Ruins', and whew, is that a nightmare. Are there any videos up on youtube of someone successfully beating it? The necessity of keeping 4 objectives at all times, and the presence of only one supply hex, makes it very difficult for me.

Someone posted an AAR of it when they actually played PC1 that I used successfully. I think they called it the "mushroom strategy" if you want to search for it. Basically defend the supply hex and the two hexes to its right on a line north of the open road (concentrate forces on the supply hex and the third hex, the middle hex can be easily defended with a small group), and then attack out from the hex north of the middle hex, after which you wont need to defend it.WalterTFD wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 5:08 am I just got to 'Stalingrad Ruins', and whew, is that a nightmare. You might be tempted to set up your right flank at the hex one further, so you have five hexes defended, but don't--you will get stretched too thin and have to try a fighting retreat, which sacrifices your entrenchment bonuses
Attacking north allows you to quickly take their airfield up there, basically neutralizing the soviet air threat for most of the scenario. Then you split the attack force to curl around the two fronts that have developed around the supply hex and right hex. Those hexes you only defend until their forces have been exhausted, then you attack out and seize all the other victory points

Just finished the Africa Corps Custom Camapaign. It ended at Tunisia Bridgehead. Should I be seeing an AHISTORICAL path at this point? (It just sent me to the main menu.)
Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
You took the historical route so your core is saved for the historical 1943 West when we complete that. You will be able to import your saved core from Africa Corps into GC1943West
Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
Okay, thanks tpoo.
Is there a scenario where I can go back and make a different choice and get to do the AHISTORICAL route?

Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
Yes there is. You would have had to start the Africa Corps with one of our latest updates because the non-historical path was not finished in the early versions. After the Alam Halfa scenario you get the choice to continue on to the Suez Canal, the non-historical path or to go to El Alamein, the historical path. In the Non-Historical Path at the Persia scenario you will get the option to branch once again, to the Caucasus scenario and your core will save for a non-historical 1943 East path or to India where your core will save for a future non-historical Pacific path.
Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
Yes, I remember something about that now.
Thanks so much -- I'll go back and take a different route.
Really appreciate all of this content that you guys created!
[BTW: Most of the Africa Corps scenarios have been quite hard. Grondel must be a Blitzgrieg Master!]

He makes the scenarios where you have to think, plan and proceed no matter what skill level you play at. No walkovers like AO DLC's here.
Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
Yes, if you get sloppy in the Africa Campaign, you will face an early "retirement."

Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
Indeed, and I like when it gets hard, especially when you think your army is unstoppable

But I am not so happy with the kind of difficulty you have to deal with in the some scenarios. There are 2-3 scenarios when the british got "OP Hero combinations" for all of their tanks, to make them competitive. Even my experienced panzer IV get killed easily, only tigers are safe from attacks.
Sometimes the britishairforce is that strong, they could take out my whole airforce if they would just attack my fighters first.
I am not saying the scenarios are bad but it sometimes feels strange, like when you enable the mode when the enemy gets plus 5 for every unit.
Btw it is still intended, that you almost never get prestige for capturing cities in the africa korps?

I'm getting a game crash after finishing PALESTINE, after the mission debriefing is finished, when I click on CONTINUE on the Results Screen. It crashes each time while the next scenario loads.
I've restarted & retried multiple times, but can't get past this screen.
Any thoughts?

If using STEAM... first try to validate your Game-Integrity by 1st right-clicking on Panzer Corps ---This effort is carried out to make sure that your Game-Download is in good order---... then... Go-To Properties... then Local-Files... and at last click the... Verify Integrity of Game Files. Try your Game again... to see if all is in order.PWHERREN wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 7:56 pm I'm getting a game crash after finishing PALESTINE, after the mission debriefing is finished, when I click on CONTINUE on the Results Screen. If that fails... then when you still have the PzC2 Game listings tab highlighted... left-click STEAM on the top left hand side of the STEAM page... then click SETTINGS... and then again... at last... scroll down the right-hand side of the Page... select and activate... CLEAR DOWNLOAD CACHE. Once this is done... you can then try to RE-INSTALL PzC2... without any defect corrupt programming or junk which may get in your way which would have been causing you your grief... which could be Corrupt-Game-Files!.
So then... Re-Install the Game... and hopefully... you should have no-more-issues!.
Beyond this!... I don't know what else to do!.

What if it was a bug in the mod ? It would take a savegame to test...

@PWHERREN
i need more information to help u with ur crash.
what platform/download of the game and the mod are u using?
when u open ur modmanager, what version of the mod are u using? PC1 GrandCampaign -steam(local, when downloaded here) 09.04.22 should be the current version
in older versions we had some issues with enemy heroes causing a crash

Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
Has there been some stealth changes to the Wyszogrod scenario? There is now a constant stream of AI units from the north.
Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
nope, the reinforcement of the AI is randomized. it will be different evrytime u play it.
maybe u just got a rare random on this run?

sers,
Thomas
Re: Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (Custom Campaign)
That is very odd. I've been playing that scenario a few times but the AI usually comes in waves and not that constant stream. The AI was also far more aggressive, I had to stay at the starting position because I got wrecked. I had to use a lot of prestige as well. I am usually around 4k after that scenario but I was down to 275.
