Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.3 (11/06/18)
MPC '41 v0.4 development update.
This update will add five scenarios to the campaign.
So far, five maps have been created and four scenarios are ready for release.
That leaves me with one more scenario to finish and test.

Working on the fifth and final scenario of the next update; it's not the final scenario of MPC '41 though.

This looks good.
I'm having fun working through the updated 40 MPC, and looking forwards to trying out 41.

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
The next missions on the drawing board are Oranienbaum pocket and defense of Sinyavino. A DV in the Leningrad mission will allow the opportunity to clean up the Oranienbaum pocket; a MV in the Leningrad mission will result in a defensive mission in the 15km wide area between Schlüsselburg and Mga. Afterwards there will be one or two more missions to conclude the MPC 41 campaign.
The Leningrad mission is not exactly a walk in the park but a DV (perhaps not the first time) is doable.

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
I did all the scenarios until N ° 9 (but not 7 and 8 that I would do next)
no problems so far except that after "Athens" the choice is to make n ° 4 or not, but if I choose no, the campaign stops
The campaign is interesting but a bit simple because I use MPC 40 core units that have a lot of bonuses

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
Thanks for the catch. The choice should be fixed in the next update.daon wrote:I did all the scenarios until N ° 9 (but not 7 and 8 that I would do next)

Playing through the entire campaign has benefits, in contrast to a preset core; i suppose this is more or less the same as with the GC DLC's.
Naturally, difficulty can always be increased but at least in a first play through a normal level of difficulty is advised. In addition, campaigns should also be open to the novice player and things should not be too hard at first.

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
I've just finished the first two battles. My army is carried over from MPC 39 and 40, General and 75% prestige, dice chess and reform units.
Belgrade was good. I like having mutliple deployment zones and having to think out what forces I need where. I had a DV with a turn or two to spare but had a couple of nasty moments where I found that my local force was in need of some urgent air support - luckily the bombers were all nearby and my spotting heroes picked up strong forces before they saw me. Maybe adding a message when the Hungarians are expected to arrive would be useful.
Thermopylae - missed a DV by one turn probably due to being very slightly too cautious on Thermopylae itself and possibly from having a few units still using horse transport and two turns of mud. Not quite as fun as Belgrade, due to the congested start but the remote final destination adds a bit of time pressure to what would otherwise be a methodical assault. There's also a few tricks and traps for teh reckless that add a need for caution with the need for speed.
Also, does fighting Rudel appear in 41?

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
After creating the Thermopylae map and scenario i got a deja-vu; I think the Thermopylae mission was also there in PG 2. Starting position is somewhat cluttered but once past the Commonwealth defensive lines, things should be blitzkrieg style.captainjack wrote: Also, does fighting Rudel appear in 41?
Rudel appears in the first Operation Barbarossa mission; same rule applies for Super Rudel to appear as in GC 41E.
Thanks for your feedback.

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
I've now finished Narva and still enjoying this.
The big maps and well spread objectives are forcing me to think hard about how to achieve the missions. I am currently using a form of divisional structure - one motorised infantry and two panzer divisions with a few corps units has worked qute well on most maps. There have been quite a few nasty surprises where I had to make a strategic retreat and call in the Luftwaffe as a fire brigade. Who would have thought the Italians in Spoils of War could be so dangerous? The 38t with a hero (upgraded to an f is still usful enough to defer upgrading) as with a spot hero kradschutzen it can do souting well enough.
I've had a mix of DV and MV as even with good weather, covering the distance has been a challenge. I suspect in part this is because I tend to be quite methodical and risk averse early on. Low fuel capacity is making me think about converting the Panzer 3s to 4s, and I'm even thinking that paras migt be worth a go. SInce I am usually General Market Garden rather than general Eben Emael, that's a big call!

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
Just finished Leningrad with a loss.
I did have two turns of rain and three of mud near the beginning but by the end I felt like I was about 4 to 6 turns short of reaching Shlusselberg(?) at the top right corner for the MV and after about turn 1 I never felt I had any chance of a DV. I can't be sure at the moment if this is because I missed something important or if it was too hard. Leningrad was still good but probably needs a bit longer. The final briefing was yet to be finished (I could guess what it said, and I suspect it won't be flattering). I also noted that the gamerules file hadn't disabled soft cap. I was at 100% every time I checked (I think up to Narva) so it didn't have any effect.
The first two MPC were both very good and this one is at least as good and possibly better.

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
I played Leningrad, dividing my army in two battlegroups. One battlegroup for each side of the map. The focus must remain on the five objectives. Probably one or two airfields (little) of the path of the advancing battlegroups must be captured but aside from this, places of no importance should be avoided whenever possible.captainjack wrote:Just finished Leningrad with a loss.

No updates for the next couple of weeks, i am on vacation. I also suffer from a terrible hangover from celebrating Belgium's victory over Brasil.

Re: [Axis Campaign] MPC 41 v0.4 (23/06/18)
After an extensive break, i am working again on the next update of MPC 41.
The scenario list so far:
01. Belgrade
02. Thermopylae
03. Athens
04. Spoils of war 2 (optional)
05. Raseiniai
06. Daugavpils
After scenario Daugavpils, the campaign splits in two:
Leg 1:
07. Tallinn
08. Narva
Leg 2:
09. Pskov
10. Novgorod
Than the campaign merges again into:
11. To Leningrad
The final scenario's i am working on:
A DV in Leningrad will lead to the Oranienbaum pocket assault mission
A MV in Leningrad will lead to the Sinyavino defense mission
The final mission will probably be Tichvin.
