Re: Season 2 Tournament diary and news
Today I have sent a message to players in Late Antiquity Division A asking them to prioritise their matches in that division as the match completion rate is very low.
Re: Late Antiquity: winners post your result here . . .
Division A
shawkhan2's Soissons beat Nikiforosfokas' mighty Armenians 49% to his 24%.
Always fun trying to bring a cavalry army to melee.

Div D.
jakdaw's Romans beat harveylh's Ptolemaics: 33-59.
An effective screen kept the Ptolemaic cavalry out of the battle until it was too late for them to have an impact. (A turn sooner, though, and ...?)

Round 4 Romans (219-200BC) v Carthaginians, Hannibal in Italy (218-217BC) Stimovsky v Morbio
Morbio WON 60-50
Have you played it twice? If so, the first result (Morbio winning) will be the one that counts. (stockwellpete)

Division B
Ludendorf (Romans 219-200 BC) defeats SpeedyCM (Carthaginians: Hannibal in Italy 218-217 BC) 42-60%.
This game was much, much closer than it appears. I blundered a bit in the middle after almost decisive initial success, and Speedy's consistent, tenacious and efficient manoeuvring kept me constantly scrambling to avoid falling that one critical step behind. My forces were worn down to the bone, and by the final turn, my army could have ended up collapsing rapidly had Speedy got a single rally amongst his routing troops. The fight ended at the point it needed to for me. I also got lucky with my morale checks, my stubborn Romans toughing out almost every situation their foolish commander got them into. The Romans really prove their superior and above average status today.

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
