Yes, Division C is not quite right, but it doesn't matter at this stage as many players have not registered a result yet. I will update these on Sunday morning.Morbio wrote:Pete, your reference numbers at the start of the tables look somewhat odd. Not important, just thought you may like to know...stockwellpete wrote:I thought I had better get these Late Antiquity tables up before the first Sunday round-up because the winner of Division B might be decided before then.![]()

Division D
RagnarOneTooth Carthage wins over Peter Abb Macedon 65 31
A tense game with both forces holding a hill, and the Macedon light troops chasing off the Carthaginian Cavalry for most of the game, Gradually a battle developed on the hill with advantage going to the carthaginians, yet Macedon would not stay down pretty much all the forces that initially broke, rallying, sadly for Macedon the Carthaginians managed to flank their elite and despite having many units shattered in the process finally break them before their lancers could break through the returned cavalry and irregulars hastily sent to hold them.

division D
RagnarOneTooth Carthage beats Tresantes Bosporan 43 10
Carthage made good use of the woods on either side and the wooded hill in the centre to defeat the cavalry attacks on the left and right before turning to meet the delayed advance of the infantry in the centre. The veterans proving their worth against the right and then centre supporting the light and medium troops. While on the left the carthaginian skirmishes enabled their elephants and cavalry to push out and flank the lanvers on another hill.

Division D
RagnarOneTooth Carthage beats MikeMUC Achaemenid Persian 46 17
Combined arms ensnared and defeated the persian push on the right, then screen by their lights the Carthaginian forces shifted right and pushed over the river and into the woods before pushing onto the archers holding the centre. While the left most carthaginian forces suffered heavy losses, Carthage was able to use othismos and numbers to push the right most flank and turn the battle in their favour.

Re: Banter . . .
Is it just me, or do Hephthalites sound like they've had something distasteful in their mouth and just spat it out ...PHTH! ? ...maybe, as their general once said,"...the bitter taste of defeat." ?
