@Munt: How early? Italy can enter on turn 2 if Entente is very unlucky and Ottomans can enter as early as turn 7. Both chances are very small because early Ottomans/Italians make a BIG difference to the game (and most Entente players rage-quit the game if Italy joins CP :wink: ).
In multiplayer Italy newer join to the Entente. Lost to many citiz in russa, france and serbia....

Normally i lost half of Serbia and polland in russa (only some fortress can hold) early 1915 France lost all the cities in the north.Belgium surrendered in 1914.
Central power get so many event then Italy newer closer to join in 4-5 turn.
And central power not use gas shells....

i found a bug whit the MARNE TAXIS.

Not get the “Industrial Warfare” tech for France if “Attaque a outrance” has already happened.

are you using Italian Neutrality? I kinda agree that Russia is too weak (and too many armies deployed towards Austria Hungary? Though that might be historical, dunno for sure). You did a pretty good job vs me in France, held me at the Marne-Seine river, just 1 hex short of Paris. Clutch Galieni, and Army of africa I think.

Belgium surrendering is pretty normal, losing north of France too, as long as it's not Verdun and not Paris, you're good.

Vs me you played quite agressive in Serbia, so that might explain why you lose Serbia early.


noticed that in SP, AH starts around 25pp production in t1. But in MP, I had 37 already in t1. French and British production in MP also seems higher than SP, though not sure 100%.

They frequently move the entrenched corps at Ypres off its hex, severly weaking their position. Since the opening turns are a bit scripted on the German side as well, perhaps the Entente also needs a lil bit of help. If Brussels falls in t3, that reserve corps should not move imo. Just a suggestion.

Gallieni's army corps seems to spawn at lower strength than last patch. I've seen it spawn at 3 and 4 strength. Before it was between 5 and 7.

Might be the result Prittwitz's command range reduction, but the Russian attack seems much stronger than before. This is not a bad thing btw. just an observation. Need to adjust to it. They routinely break through my lines in east prussia now in 1 or 2 turns. Before, they hardly every broke through if at all.

Army of French Africa spawns in Marseilles now? (I chose it in t1 or 2 I think)

The BEF spawns in port at weaker strength, but once it hits French soil, it always goes to 8 strength, at least in SP. Even when it's attacked in port, and damaged, it goes up to 8.

Couple more ideas:

Can damage British munitions supplies/production, with option of failure to bring the US into war a bit sooner. Or perhaps in any case.

Also, since the US didn't relish fighting on the same side as Tsarist Russia, a Russian surrender or thecstart of Russian revolution can bring the US closer to joining Entente. This can help counter balance the inherent (although perhaps historical) weakness of thr Russian empire. And it makes Ostmarsch harder, as you can easily knock out Russia in 1916. But if doing so actually brings US into the war, that poses a whole new level of challenge and strategic depth.
In general, choosing Ostmars should probably make the US swing more towards entente. Probably there's no real historical basis for it, but from a game balance perspective, I think it's healthier for the game, giving the German player a bit more of a challenge without boosting russia beyond its historical strength and capacity

not yet. I'm mostly trying out openings. Tbh, I rarely finish games vs AI. I know how it'll end XD But I like to try new ways to start games though.

Can confirm that Marne Taxis no longer unlock Industrial warfare when chosen after outrance has been triggered. Though not sure if it should. Because Gallieni also unlocks Industrial warfare if chosen after Marne Taxis.

Gallieni does trigger industrial warfare if chosen after Marne Taxis. But in SP at least, he also triggers entrenchment bonus when playing as Entente, not just for French units, but also British and Belgian ones in France. (also when AI is entente but I knew this already). He should pop in one of my MP games soon, so I can check what he does there.

this game is strange sometimes tbh. I've repeatedly seen the Entente kill my submarine in the British Channels when they manage to stumble upon it somehow in the opening turns. It happened in our game as well. Yet just now I've surrounded a German sub, and 4 attacks with cruisers and battleships can't even damage the one submarine. How's that possible... They were not royal reviewed, so no Anti-Torpedo bulge, but that seems to be only a tech slightly boosting defensive stats.

Battle of the Yser is added to the Entente event pool after the Race to the Sea is over and at least 3 German units are on French hexes.
Calais must be under Entente control. If the hex northeast of Calais is empty this spawns an Entente unit on that hex: either a Belgium Army Corps if Belgium has not yet surrendered, else a French Reserve Corps. If the hex is already occupied by a German unit, the German unit will be damaged instead.

French Army of Africa spawns at Marseille if played before turn 3 representing they used the time to travel to France. Risks meeting the Goeben though, causing damage.

Marne Taxis currently does not unlock industrial warfare, PDF is obsolete on this. I think I will re-introduce it though and instead have Gallieni only unlock barbed wire and auto-entrench just Paris and all adjacent hexes with Entente units on them.

Submarines are difficult to damage until Depth Charges are researched which raise the sub-attack stat that is the only stat used when attacking subs and is quite low at the start of the game.
Also when "Spithead Navy Review" was not played all British naval units have their experience heavily degraded which is not helping either.

About Austrian starting PP: just like any other nation Austria starts with a random amount of PP (30 + 3D6 for Austria)

So just to get it straight, SP Gallieni does the above (And currently also Industrial Warfare if Marne Taxis) but MP Gallieni only does Army + currently Industrial warfare? Or does MP Gallieni also unlock barbed wire, but not auto entrench?

Well, my units were 2nd level veteran, which is similar to what they are when review was played. It was a bit weird actually, because I didn't play review (as units were still 2nd lvl instead of 3rd, but all ships were 10 strength + 2 veteran instead of 6 strength and 1 or 0 veteran.) But I couldn't damage the submarine with 5 ships (2 light cruisers, 2 battle cruisers and 1 dreadnought). Yet, I've seen you and the AI kill my subs with 2 or 3 attacks from British ships in the Channel :/ I mean I see more weird stuff I can't replicate sometimes lol. It's really hard to crack the Serbian line for me, but when I play against AI or in multiplayer, somehow my Serbian line disintegrates. Despite stats being same, and backed by Bojovic. A guy killed a 8 strength 2 veteran reserve corps with 3 army corps, rolling a 5-0 on the last one... like I have not seen that ever in 50 games against AI :shock:

I understand ;) I will get to it lol. Let me have some fun with new openings first and then I will finish a game on each side. :lol:

Does the Crown Prince only unlock for command on t5? Or also after? Because I put an empty army corps near Strassbourg in t10, but nothing happened that turn or the next. Neither did I see the event in the pool.

Enver Pasha is still strong, despite being cut in half. It doesn't really change much, as the first few turns you'll be marching and you can repair in that case anyway. It does eat some Ottoman PP, but they usually have some to spare at the start, especially if KAisers gold and Breslau have been played. The spawned Russian Reserve corps however do quite a lot.

Nail Men still almost always gets unlocked after Anleihe 1, I don't recall ever having seen it before I've picked Anleihe 1.

What Gallieni does in the version of the mod you are currently using, nothing more nothing less:
- unlocks Gallieni
- spawns a damaged Army Corps
- unlocks Barbed Wire tech
- in singleplayer mode applies maximum entrenchment to all Entente units in France
- sets French war effort to 100%

Was this during the Typhoid Epedemic? If so then it's possible because of reduced unit efficiency. If not that guy could maybe have played the "Wave of Patriotism" for Austria? Worst case is he modified the combat script, aka cheater. :|

That's not random either but regulated by the war effort (mobilization) script that has different values for both singleplayer modes and multiplayer.

The Crown Prince is discarded should the "Kaiser celebrates" or "Siege of Verdun" events trigger before he gets played.

Nail Men is unlocked after the first Kriegsanleihe was played and Germany is blockaded.

ok, maybe he used patriotism, I don't think you get a nofitication of the enemy using that, right? Rest of the game went as normal, so doubt it's cheating.

Ah, yeah that must be it. I probably just didn't notice the difference before.

Ah, I guess that's what happened. I captured Paris so the event was discarded. So that means you can either get him by event, or unlock him by placing an Army near Strassbourg on t5, and no earlier and no later?

I think maybe nailmen should come before first Anleihe, to make the event a bit better. Blockade as a condition seems fine.


Some new things I noticed:

Send arms and ammo to Ottomans doesn't work properly. The trickle also doesn't seem to do anything (I know for sure the ammo trickle isn't working in the turns I had the event, the PP and manpower are harder to track so not sure). Railway capacity is increased, but it doesn't come into effect until you end the turn.

Offensive in the east attack bonus is very minimal currently. The difference is hardly noticable. I think the attack bonus was definitely too much before. It might be in a good spot now, at least for MP. Though something like increasing the attack bonus again by like 25% and reduce the PP bonus by 50% (from 60 to 30) could also be an option, depending on what you want the event to achieve. It's definitely no longer a breakthrough event. Although part of that is also due to the higher entrenchment.

The event is added to the CP event pool from turn 5 or later if a German Army Corps is in a 2 hex radius around Strasbourg.

Entrenchment bonus from techs will be lowered again. Current multiplier is 3 for Barbed Wire, will reduce it to 2.

ok, gotcha.

I see. Then I guess the event for Ottomans is working, because I think the Manpower did increase. Just no ammo or PP, but I wasn't low on either. The extra rail was added, but not the turn I played the event. It got increased permanently the next turn.

Ok, let's see how lower entrenchment works out. I suppose the higher entrenchment is a bit more historical XD but also maybe a bit more boring haha. It becomes a real war of attrition, and less so of capturing cities. I don't mind it, tbh. Just requires some adjusting strategy wise.

not sure if related, but I applied the fix above, not sure if munt did the same.


btw, what are the conditions to trigger outrance on a CP turn? I've seen the AI do it a few times vs me, but I've never managed to do it myself. Just bad luck?

other observations:

Schlieffen plan is less effective at achieving a quick breakthrough in Belgium than going Moltke + Neutrality violated. (considerations > remove the turn 3 attack bonus from Neutrality Violated and add it to Schlieffen plan. NV already gives a diplomatic bonus of 1 per turn + a positional advantage over schlieffen plan while also costing no PP while Schlieffen plan consumes 15pp)

war atrocities event probably should remove a fixed minimum of CP diplo points and then add a bonus on top for each German unit in Belgium (because usually when Germany captures Ypres, they also move most units out of Belgium)

Let crown-prince assume command is working

Possible bugs:
Fatherland event doesn't show up in pool, despite meeting requirements you listed earlier (spawned reserve units on t5 in both east and west, triggering the German Army expanded pop up both times, and Patriotism was played on t4). Are there any requirements I'm missing?
