All over. A great game was played by The Greying Mouse. Used his mobility and bow fire to great effect. My troops were too weak to withstand the assult of his light troops on the last turn. My steady pike and spear could not find (catch any opponents) to get a last gasp win (or draw).
Cheers, Claymore

A great result from Pantherboy in the final match to beat a pike-based army with spears in an open terrain. Having played carthage against many pike-based armies in the Diadochi competition I know from bitter experience how hard that is <salutes>.
Final Placings
1st: Hannibal
2nd: Pyrrhus
3rd: Caesar
4th: Alexander
My thanks to all players for their support of this inaugral competition, my thanks also to the captains for recruiting their team and the planning and coordination related to matching armies with terrain and opposing armies, and with assigning players to armies.
Overall it took a month longer than hoped for, but that's OK. I'll smply allow a month for each round in future and 6 competitions a year is fine
