I have done the army allocations for Classical Antiquity and Late Antiquity this morning. I will take a break for a few hours now and then do Early Middle Ages late afternoon. High Middle Ages will be done tomorrow and I will allow edits today.

Yesterday, I sent individual "Welcome" PM's to all 118 entrants. Only 13 remain unopened, which is really good. I have already put a couple of calls out on the forum to players who missed the deadline for selecting armies. They will be replaced if they do not get in touch with me quickly. I will start talking to reserves today.

Point 1 - Basically, what you should do at the start of the tournament is issue a couple of challenges of your own for each section that you have entered. Try to do this in the first few days of the tournament. Sometimes the person you challenge may also have challenged you, but this does not happen all that often. This is because, when you issue a challenge, you also send a "private message" (PM) to your opponent so that they know very quickly that there is a match for them.

Point 2 - players do things differently. You will see a few players issue all 9 challenges in one go at the start, while other players will just issue one at a time. Both ways are OK. If you issue 9 at once though, it is likely that some players will not be ready to start straight away as they have other matches to play first, so you will probably have to issue reminders a week or so later.

No, I look at the various other tournaments that also take place, particularly the automated tournaments. If somebody is finishing near the top in those, and is beating some of our "A-rated" players in the process, then I will start them somewhere in the middle. They will be too strong for most players in the "F" divisions. I do not want to lose those "F-rated" players either because they feel the tournament is too hard.
