Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)
A message for my foes from one of Rome's greatest orators, Winstonius Churchii, recently delivered in the Roman Senate after Rome's reunification:
"I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Peninsula home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of the Senate and people or Rome -every man of them. That is the will of plebeians and the nation. The Roman Republic and her Allies, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though large tracts of land and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of our enemies, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight abroad, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and enduring strength, we shall defend our Peninsula, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Peninsula or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Allies will carry on the struggle, until, in Mar’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

Re: Turn 6 Begin
This battle will almost sure result in a draw, leaving Dacia in control of a province.[/quote]
Many thanks. Since attacker outnumbered defender in the battle both sides lose 3 armies on the draw. The remaining syracuse army retreats back. Greece26 then enters Turn 6 with no armies controlled by Dacia.

I'm posting this here rather than as a PM as I'm getting a PHP error everytime I try to submit the PM
Hi,
We started late and it was slow progress and I assume this was because of the volume of games for Nosy_Rat. We are 7 turns from the end and I am about 3% up, something like 8% vs 5%. The main lines haven't met yet and realistically I think the game will draw and so I'd it would be acceptable to me if we proceed on that basis. I had to travel to Dubai with work on Saturday (I'm from the UK) and so couldn't play on Saturday or Sunday (a working day in Dubai) or Monday (work). I have downloaded the game on my work laptop, but to be honest it's unplayable as each encounter takes about 3-5 seconds to display the results as everything is in slow motion. The size of my laptop screen also means I have no perspective of the battlefield unless I zoom out and then the units are very small. Realistically I don't expect to be able to do anything until I return home late Sunday. I'll send my moves for turn 6 on the basis that this battle is a draw and I the province remains Nosy's and we both lose 3 armies.
Nosy: I'd like to complete this battle for fun sometime in the future, I hope this is acceptable to you?
Sorry for the delay and disruption, I genuinely thought we complete this before I had to travel or that I'd have some time and a playable machine to complete the remaining turns.
Best regards,
Morbio

Morbio & Najanaja, no problem on the technical issues. Please let me know if I should put in a substitute general for your battles this turn. Ludendorf is eager for more action I think.
Additional Battle: Greece26
Morbio has again invaded Greece26:
4x4 morbio (Syracuse) v Nosy_rat (Dacian 89BC)
4x4 morbio (Syracuse) v Nosy_rat (Dacian 89BC)

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)
Ptolemaics win in Nabataea 46 which was very well defended by bbogensc in a tough battle. The Ptolemaics suffered 24% casualties thereby losing 1 of the invading armies. I think bbogensc's Persians win the tie break and take the province after earlier also defeating the Nabataeans which means 3 invading Ptolemaic armies will have to return home.

The armies of Etruria have taken the last remaining province of Germania (9). Final casualties 7% for Romans so no armies lost.
batesmotel (Romans 199-106 BC) 3% beat nyczar (German Horse Tribes) 40%
Thanks for the game
Consul Batesmotel of Etruria

The Ptolemaic armies defeat the Antigonids by 5% to 44% losing no armies and taking Antigonid32. Final troop losses 8% to 47%.

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)
The vast numbers of Slaves attempted to overwhelm the Antigonids as they sought to capture Slave42 and nearly succeeded in defeating the Pike Phalanxes. In a close run battle, the Antigonids finally won, 66% to 49% with the Final Results being 58% losses to the Slaves and 24% to the Antigonids. A victory but at a heavy price.
