Thank you for your hurtful comment Pete totally unnecessary as I sent a note to Charles and a pw two days before your post and I was acting proactively and in line with timeframes as per season one and your usual passion for getting games completed since there was no proscription mentioned in the rules of the event beyond getting all games done which we are. It has no impact on outcomes of box play. A shame you couldn't think to PM first for an explanation.stockwellpete wrote:You and Rex obviously have comprehension difficulties, Charles. Any match starting before its scheduled date will have to go before the committee for adjudication. There I shall be arguing that we treat these "false starts" as void matches where no points are awarded to either player regardless of their outcome. So it might be better to wait until the 14th and treat the games under way as friendlies. Just a suggestion.CharlesWayneRobinson1 wrote:We have started our games.

Pete,
Since you consider it so important not to start a game too soon, perhaps you should explain the reason it is so important that you would toss out the game result. I assume it is something more important than just ™Das rules are das rules!"

No it doesnt as I didn't participate in the polls conducted over Xmas due to other commitments, if it was a requirement why was not posted in the rules of the event post?
And thank you for your continued sarcasm

Re: Themed event Pool A: arrange your matches here
If players can squeeze in games now rather than being possibly rushed in the future "never put off until tomorrow if you can do it today" , then surely that is a good idea.
I know I am going to get a lot busier over the next few weeks and so I am trying to play as many games as possible now. I have finished 8 games, started 2 more and have 3 other challenges out there.

Re: Themed event Pool A: arrange your matches here
It is quite clear from the second post in this thread that there is a schedule for this event. It has been mentioned a number of times since the poll closed at Xmas including this post of mine just one week ago . . .

The schedule for the group stage matches will be as follows.
Match 1 time allowed - 1st February to 12th February
Match 2 time allowed - 14th February to 25th February
Match 3 time allowed - 27th February to 10th March
This competition will run to a schedule. Players deliberately not adhering to it run the risk of losing points through adjudication (always a committee decision in FOGDL). The purpose of the schedule is to both increase the excitement and the tactical considerations for the players. Hopefully excitement will be greater as players progress evenly through their matches and try and work put how many points they will need to qualify. And more will rest on individual matches as players make decisions on whether they must win a particular game, or whether they can afford to be more defensive in their army selections. All these nuances are distorted or lost if one player rushes through all their six matches while somebody else has only played two.
And also, it makes identifying non-starters a lot easier and it gives us time to do something about it. In the first season we had a player who started a number of matches in the themed event but finished none of them - and that led to us having to make six adjudications at the end of the group stage. The three other players in his group only got 4 matches instead of 6. This time, we have had one "no show" in pool B but we have replaced him now and we have adjusted the schedule so that no adjudications will be necessary because of his withdrawal. This represents a major improvement for the tournament compared to last time.

Message to the players in the Wars of Alexander group - cromlechi has now replaced teletabicus because teletabicus has not responded to ricoual74's challenge for the first round of paired games.
