Morbio (Jewish Revolt) beat lydianed (Palmyran) 60-54

A tough battle in which the Palmyran's missiles gave them a good start until melee which swung the battle into the Judean's favour. The battle looked certain to be a good Jewish victory until a late rally from the Palmyran troops made it a nervy finish.

The Persians quickly lost the missile skirmish and headed for defensive ground. The Judeans peppered the cavalry and defending troops with arrows until many losses without reply forced the battle which was a one-sided victory for Judea.

Geffalrus (Tuareg) barely defeats Sennacherib (Granadine) 60-53

Desperate to not spend too long under a barrage of Granadine crossbows, the Tuareg surged forward on the open plain to impact as fast as possible. In some places the Tuareg charge succeeded, and in others the Granadine heavy infantry and cavalry stood firm. After the initial carnage, both sides gathered together their scattered units for a second clash of spears and shields. The initial Tuareg lead evaporated once the knights properly got into the medium foot, but just enough camels remained to slow them down and exploit the occasional exposed flank. On the final turn of the match, the Tuareg just inched over the line to 60%. Had things lasted even another turn, the Granadines would have probably caught up, with interest. Very good game to my opponent.

Morat (French/Norman) beat random27 (German/Magyar) 66-33

Marsh on the left and mountains/woods in the centre produced a constricted battlefield. After some initial manoeuvring, the French abandoned their plans to launch heavy horse out of a concealed position on the right and pushed forward. Tough fighting on the right (where German light forces gave real trouble) and on the left (where a solitary German spear unit broke three opponents singlehandedly). But the French got the upper hand in the centre and heavy foot/lancers proved decisive.
