A tighter battle than the final score would suggest.
The Parthian heavy cataphracts and horse archers quickly gained the upper hand agains the Syracusan cavalry on an open plain, threatening the left flank of the hoplite phalanx. Only a desperate push from the Sicilians to conquer a central hill against indian archers and Elephants turned the tide in favour of the west.

I know he resides in New Zealand which is GMT+12. He has not opened the CA Div E challenge PM I sent him Wednesday 02-June, three days ago. I share your concern about not hearing from him too.

We have just had a long weekend here in NZ which was preceded by floods which closed the roads South of Christchurch for a few days. I don't know him but he could have been caught up with either or both of those events.

Both sides routed their opponent's left flanks, then met in the middle to settle the matter. Several *very* lucky Egyptian rallies drew off the Cypriot chariots, while most of the remaining infantry of both sides were disrupting and fragmenting each other. The anticlimactic end of the battle came from a forgotten melee on the Cypriot left flank, where a Phoenician-style foot unit which had rallied back to disrupted status auto-broke after a long slugging match in rough terrain with Egyptian spearmen. Extremely tough and outstanding opponent.
