An extremely fun game with both armies bristling with pikes and medium foot alike. My foe gambled (and with these guys it always is a bit of a gamble) on an elephant heavy force but unluckily for him I brought along a lot of javelins (who also proved useful in ripping up his lancers) and managed to disrupt them early on.

Other things that went my way (and were very entertaining, for me at least) was a heroic performance by an armoured cavalry sub-general named Olympos (who managed to frag a steady lancer unit in a single round and then disrupted another steady set of lancers in the next). An enemy pike disrupting and pushing back one of my own while simultaneously losing their general to charging Romans (must have been one hell of a pilum throw!). My cavalry also showed a rare wisdom in turning to flank the enemy pike line instead of wasting five turns chasing routed skirmishers across the map.
