Re: Tournament diary and news
Posting here since you locked the player ratings thread.
I'm confused about how to read the ratings.
35-FroBodine (18-64)=3,56
So, 18 is the number of games I played, and 64 is the number of rating points I achieved in those games.
Then, you say the other number is our rating score. So, what is the 3, and what is the 56, please?
Thanks!

It's your average numbers of points per match.

From Zhou to Chen reserve list only
Here are the details of the fourth league section that will be offered in the second season of the FOG2DL. Like the "Enemies of Rome" section it has been improvised from the available army lists because we do not yet have the armies for an early or late medieval section.
Players will use 9 different armies during the course of the season. The fixture list, and the army allocations, will be published in stages, the first three rounds of matches will be released on June 1st, the second three on June 22nd, and the final three on July 15th. There will be no formal deadlines to finish matches (other than what we already have in the rules) and players will still be free to play matches in any order (once they have been released) and at their own speed.
Players will need to have both the base game, the Immortal Fire DLC and the Legions Triumphant DLC to enter this section of the tournament. You will also need the latest version (v1.2) of jomni's Silk Road mod installed.
The match-ups are as follows . . .
Round 1 Chinese, Zhou (1046-701BC) v Qiang (1046-701BC)
Round 2 Carthaginians (410-341BC) v Syracusans (412-281BC)
Round 3 Lysimachids (320-281BC) v Antigonids (320-301BC)
Round 4 Pyrrhus (280-272BC) v Macedonians (320-261BC)
Round 5 Kushans (130BC-476AD) v Indo-Skythians (95BC-50AD)
Round 6 Spanish, Sertorius (80-70BC) v Spanish (300-100BC)
Round 7 Romano-British (407-599AD) v Scots-Irish (50BC-476AD)
Round 8 Kingdom of Soissons (461-486AD) v Germanic Foot Tribes (260-492AD)
Round 9 Chinese, Chen (557-589AD) v Northern Dynasties, Northern Zhu (557-581AD)
The terrain setting for all matches in this section will be "Pot Luck".
If you wish to enter this section please post just your name in this thread.

Re: From Zhou to Chen . . .
I have replaced the Achaemenid Persian v Lydian match-up with Spanish (Sertorius) v Spanish because the Persian v Lydians will appear elsewhere in the tournament. I am also looking at removing the Romans v Western Huns match-up from this section as I also have that elsewhere in the tournament.

Re: Enemies of Rome (or Rome: Rise and Fall) . . .
Great selection there and much more interesting to me at least than the Classical Indian section.
Kudos for this one.

Re: Enemies of Rome (or Rome: Rise and Fall) . . .
Thanks. This should offer a more balanced set of games for all 10 players in each division. Classical Indian will be replaced by this section but I will use the Season 1 Classical Indian tables for promotion and relegation purposes.devoncop wrote:Great selection there and much more interesting to me at least than the Classical Indian section.

Recruitment for the Themed Event is now closed!
The themed event is organised differently from the core sections of the league. Players will compete in stand-alone pools of 16 players based on ability and experience. The event consists of two phases. In the first phase players will participate in league groups of 4 playing 3 single matches (not paired games) against the other players in their group. The top two players from each group will go through to the second phase which is organised on a knock-out basis, comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. These knock-out matches will be paired games and aggregate scoring will decide the winner where players win one match each.
You will need the Base game, the "Immortal Fire" DLC and the Legions Triumphant DLC to enter into this section of the tournament.
There will be 32 places available initially and there will be a reserve list. Players entering this section must prioritise these matches as it operates under a very tight schedule.
The details of the themed event are as follows . . .
Group matches (single matches)
Round 1 Achaemenid Persians (550-546BC) v Lydians (550-546BC)
Round 2 Achaemenid Persians (480-461BC) v Greeks (550-461BC)
Round 3 Sassanid Persians (224-476AD) v Parthians (250BC-225AD)
Note: in the group stage matches each player will play just once as the Achaemenid Persians.
Quarter-finals (paired games)
Sassanid Persians (224-476AD) v Romans (197-284AD)
Semi-finals (paired games)
Sassanid Persians (224-476AD) v Palmyrans (258-273AD)
Final (paired games)
Sassanid Persians (224-476AD) v Hepthalites (350-470AD)

Classical Antiquity reserve list only
Here is the full army list for the Classical Antiquity league section. There are over 80 armies available to choose from and, initially, players are required to choose 3 of them (from different nations, so not 3 Carthaginian armies, for example). Please post your army selections in this thread. You may select them in order of preference or you may just select 3 armies indicating that any of them are acceptable choices.
Once players have been organised into divisions of 10 based on their playing experience and ability, they will then be allocated one of their three choices. Only very occasionally might a player be asked to make a fourth selection at this stage.
Players will need to have both the base game and the Immortal Fire DLC to enter this section of the tournament.
Army list
Please note that the following massed bow armies (Indian, Mountain Indian, Indo-Greeks and Nabataeans) will not be available in Season 2 as a substantial adjustment to their capabilities will occur mid-season when the next DLC is released. They will return to the army lists for Season 3.

Players will need to have the base game, Legions Triumphant DLC and Age of Belisarius DLC to enter this section of the tournament.
Once players have been organised into divisions of 10 based on their playing experience and ability, they will then be allocated one of their three choices. Only very occasionally might a player be asked to make a fourth selection at this stage.
Players will need to have the base game and the Legions Triumphant DLC to enter this section of the tournament.
Army list
Please note that the following massed bow armies (Indian, Indo-Greeks and Nabataeans) will not be available in Season 2 as a substantial adjustment to their capabilities will occur mid-season when the next DLC is released. They will return to the army lists for Season 3.

Recruitment for Season 2 will open on Monday 14 May
Less than 2 weeks now and it starts all over again! Invitations will be sent out over the weekend May 12 and 13. We had 82 players involved in Season 1, just one short of the record 83 players that we had in FOG1DL. I am hoping that we will break that record this time.

Re: From Zhou to Chen . . .
The Romans v Huns match-up has now been replaced by Lysimachids v Antigonids.stockwellpete wrote:I have replaced the Achaemenid Persian v Lydian match-up with Spanish (Sertorius) v Spanish because the Persian v Lydians will appear elsewhere in the tournament. I am also looking at removing the Romans v Western Huns match-up from this section as I also have that elsewhere in the tournament.
