Spring 1026
Turk1964(Saminids) 32/37 def Macsen(Abbasids) 40/36
Turk had a Field commander Blow up.
No camps were looted
An interesting battle in rugged terrain which suited niether army. I managed to take the high ground on the eastern side of the map and held against a tough Abbaasid army.Very close in the end and well played Macsen

keyth's Abbasids 31/32 narrowly force the invading Dailami of iandavidsmith (33/32) back into the sea.
Interesting battle that turned 90 degrees at the outset due to terrain. Ian held a hill, but a line of dismounted Abbasid HF lured some of the impetuous Dailami MF from its tender care. Unfortunately, said HF then proceeded to under perform, while my volunteer foot and lancers had to do most of the work. It was a rollercoaster of a battle with the dice swinging for one side then the other. I think the deciding factors to a very close run thing were the alacrity with which my high-speed looters took out the Dailami camp and, rather ironically, one of my Dailami MF holding my centre together even though fragged.
Great game Ian, you were very unlucky. Dailami lost a camp and two FCs, Abbasids lost an FC.

keyth (Arab Conquest) 39/40 pipped Tiavals (Avars) 46/44 to the post in another close run thing. Lots of strange results, like the archer salient on my right holding out for a ridiculous amount of time.
No camps looted and I'm not sure of the leader count - I think I had one rout and one killed, not sure if I got any of the enemy?
Thanks to Tiavals for a nail-biter.

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
I started with 3 leaders and ended with 2, so one dead probably(don't think he routed normally?).
Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
I just realised that I haven't issued my challenge, what with all the assaults on Krete

Just a quick warning for Chris and Macsen - I'll be away from my FoG machine until tomorrow evening at the earliest, but will get the turns rolling then!

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
The final assault on Krete has been resolved with a tough-fought draw:
keyth's Abbasids (34/34) drew with macsen's Abbasids (38/36). No camps looted or leaders killed.

keyth's Abbasid's (16/32) beat batesmotel's Ghaznavids (33/32). I lost an FC but I don't think Chris lost any commanders. Both camp intact.

macsen Abbasid's (34/39) beat phlewis Dailami (31/31). I lost a TC and phlewis had his camp looted.
A very close battle with the Dailami leading most of the way as they destroyed the Abbasid right wing and half the centre. On the other wing the Abbasid cavalry destroyed the few units in their way, sacked a camp and turned up to the actual battle in time to hear the rejoicing!
Well played phlewis, only luck in it.
