I am building my own selucid army and have played romans quite a few times, always against the Spanish but here are some ideas I have found useful
Get some MF spears, they can go into the rougher stuff the legions want to avoid and in more than one game have bolstered back from fragged and broken their opponents, tough little buggers.

Cretan archers, superior light foot archers so they reroll 1's for shooting hits. The extra range helps.

Gaul cav, armoured superior they could come in handy dealing with the non-pike blocks.

Elephants, not sure how they handle pikes but the can stomp heavy and med foot pretty good.

go for the slings, the 4 range is better than javelins and you can use them to pull the pike line apart by forcing ct's not to charge.

Light horse, the most annoying great troop type in the game, get close enough to toss spears and then bugger off when charged laughing over your shoulder. If you really want you can get some light horse archers, bottom of LRR list I believe.

One other thing to remember is that pikes fight on a narrow front so if you can get them broken up you can get more dice for overlapping them, the more dice the better I always say.
Hope those thoughts help a bit
