Awsome ICONS Akrebel, very detailed indeed, when will you upload these bad boys? Id like to see what you could do for the much needed upgrade of the tiger I and tiger II. Great work!

Thank you very much Akkula and MjrOu812
Yes, in some symbols, I've actually put in part of 1-2 hours of work to work out the details, corrected over and over again until it fits for me. Quite possibly, it may be that I may have overlooked details. In fact, I was inspired by the many beautiful units already presented by other users here in the forum. Some of them served as a basis for others. I built them completely myself.

MjrOu812 to the Tiger family I think it will probably take a while, there were just too many variations in German tank development.

I hope you want to create all the units, I'm still waiting for the artillery, because the 7.5_cm_FK_16_nA is very small.

lennis29 I think it will take some time, because I want to finish the tank series first. If I have enough stamina I will also take care of the artillery units.

Hello AK Rebel:

A large and impressive array of unit icons... Thanks for sharing them here! I also like the fact that they look in the same style as the original game icons, and the big unit portraits with the profile line drawings are very nicely done, too. Again, a big thank you!

By the way, as there are a few units I did not know about, like, for example the 5 cm PaK 38 on a Panzer I chassis, I want to ask you if all units you made are "historical" or you mixed projected, "what if" and historical units. Could you please name what are your sources? I would like to know more about some of those variations.

Greetings! 8)

Hello guille1434, thanks for your feedback. To your question about the sources. Basically, it is important to me only to create units of historical significance. Say actual series production but also prototypes. Unfortunately, depending on the source, there are contradictory or non-congruent facts. This sometimes makes a historical correct search difficult. Unfortunately, I can not give a 100% guarantee of the historical correctness of my already created units, nevertheless, negative criticism is certainly desirable.

Here are the sources for the 5 cm PaK 38 on a Panzer I chassis
http://www.wardrawings.be/WW2/Files/1-V ... 0mmPak.htm
https://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprin ... _i_ausf_b/

general sources for my research are, for example:
the engine book publishing house "Panzer ?? and their varieties", there "Web" or other various books.

Hi, these are indeed some nice improvements! :)

According to the "Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two", follwing the Polish invasion and the fact that Polish anti-tank rifles could easily penetrate the 15 mm frontal armour of the Panzer II, all Panzer II c to C versions received additional 20 mm bolted armour plates to the front of the turret, hull and superstructure, and about 70% of the Panzer II tanks had this armour increase by May 1940, and the remainder by the beginning of Barbarossa. Until now I used the same image for both versions, but it would be nice if there was an icon for this bolted armour increase as it can be seen here:

Not sure if it is possible to do it nicely, though. After all it is just a fairly thin armour plate, so should not be overdone, but should be visibly different from the original version.

AK Rebel:

Thanks for your comments, and also for the new units you uploaded.

About the sources, I learned to take the internet drawings with a piece of salt, so to speak, because as anyone knows, any average-skilled graphics designer can make "real" looking new combinations of tank hulls, turrets and guns... Of course, this is not a negative (destructive) criticism, it is just an attempt to learn something more about this theme that all people here is interested in. So, I am not against the introduction of "un-historical" or "what-if" units, after all, we all have the option to mod said unit (or not) in the game. What I don't like is the physically impossible units (for example, I saw some scale model of a E-100 hull with a 12,8 Flakzwilling on it... What? If you search the net for it you will clearly see some flaws in the design: How was supposed for the ammo loaders to manhandle the heavy projectiles to the tank hull's considerable height? What about the fire control apparatus, etc... etc...)

So, I think that the factual sources for any unit should be books from serious authors, war time photographs or photos of real hardware present in museums. The book "Panzer I - II and its variants" is a very good one (but I don't have it) and another one (which I do have and constantly consult) is the one mentioned by McGuba: "Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two". By the way, this last book don't mention any variant of the Panzer I with a 5 cm Pak gun, but it was not an impossible unit. I think that they just did not mount that gun on the Pz I chassis, because they did made some prototypes of 5 cm Pak 38 on Pz II chasis (in Marder style). So, that Panzer I variant should be labelled as a "what-if" unit, but one which is perfectly valid from my point of view.

Having said that, I want to repeat that anything of what I wrote here is to discredit your work. On the contrary, I repeat that all the time you invested in making those fantastic units is something I immensely thank you for.
