Are the army types taken into account when generating maps? I've been playing the Syracusan army a lot recently (which is essentially a hoplite army) versus Dacians and pretty much every map generated includes a significant amount of forest and rough terrain - the proportions may vary, but the terrain is there. I've also noticed that the terrain always seems to be what I'd describe as North European Wooded - I've never seen any other type of map.

Is the terrain type truly random when 'Pot Luck' is selected or is the terrain type random within some constraints based on where the armies are from?

Thanks for any insight that can be shared.
Potluck is potluck but agricultural, forrest, hills mountains dont have the same % to be chosen ( agricultual is way more likely than mountains, for example)
I dont think army selection has anything to do with the above, however army selections, somehow, do determine the "region" ie Northern Europe med, middle Eastern etc.

I tend to like the terrian generated, but I do feel the river "bisecting the map" happens WAY too often. It should be some what of a rarity IMHO as the effect often is decisive.
( or maybe at least have some fords on/near BOTH players deployment areas)

There is a search facility, it is next to the first "NEWTOPIC" button, near the top of the screen, just under the section titled "Forum".
