Provided you are looking for the 64-bit version and are not running a 32-bit version of Windows, please do the below:

1. Please go to the Documents folder for the game (Default: Documents\My Games\Order of Battle – WW2) and delete the folder called “Settings”.

2. Uninstall the both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the game and then go to the folder where the game was installed and ensure no files/folders remain

3. Download the file attached in this message "OoB_ClRegx64.zip".

4. Unzip the downloaded file and run the extracted file "OoB_ClRegx64.reg".

5. Allow the "program" to delete the Windows registry keys regarding the game.

6. Install 5.2.1 of the game from the link below and reinstall the game:
http://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/OrderOfB ... v5.2.1.zip

7. Reinstall all DLCs

8. Run the game and ensure that all DLCs are showing as unlocked and the game is working.

If you need to download your DLCs you can do it from the member’s area. Please see the forum post below which explains how to do this:

Well, I'm game! No pun intended. I want a new laptop anyway and, if I don't post again right away, you'll know that I'm currently in the market! Let me approach this as "an ordinary customer" which is what I am, really. I'll let you know. :)

I'm back! And my laptop is fine, thanks. Oh, wait a minute, there's smoke coming out of the vent . . . Oh no! The ;iru874n3 '8 cjvpia8e ;1p83n y;.aar! . . . sssssss . . . [Just kidding..]

No good, VP. I did this three times and with the same results. Here they are, laid out step by step.

1. Please go to the Documents folder for the game (Default: Documents\My Games\Order of Battle – WW2) and delete the folder called “Settings”. Done.

2. Uninstall the both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the game and then go to the folder where the game was installed and ensure no files/folders remain. Done. I checked in both places where it could be, and deleted C:\Program Files\Slitherine and C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine

3. Download the file attached in this message "OoB_ClRegx64.zip".

4. Unzip the downloaded file and run the extracted file "OoB_ClRegx64.reg".

5. Allow the "program" to delete the Windows registry keys regarding the game. Here are the resulting windows, which do not seem to be saying exactly what you say:

6. Install 5.2.1 of the game from the link below and reinstall the game:
http://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/OrderOfB ... v5.2.1.zip This is crucial, and I want you to see that I did not flub this somehow:

Capture346.jpg
Capture346.jpg (192.6 KiB) Viewed 3178 times
Problem is, what installs is 5.2.0, not 5.2.1, at least on my machine (Windows 8.1). I did it three times and this is the result:
Screenshot 2.jpg
Screenshot 2.jpg (6.56 KiB) Viewed 3178 times
Then I went to install U.S. Pacific and Panzerkrieg. Both said they were successful:

But only Panzerkrieg is available. U.S. Pacific is still offline (I bet you it's because it is looking for the game under C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine):

So here's advice from the peanut gallery: If I were Slitherine/Artistocrats, I would shelve the 64-bit version until it can be installed quickly and easily by the average user. These instructions are too complicated, to say the least, and the components are not working anyway. For me, I am going back to the 32-bit version until this gets resolved.

I just sent a PM to folks urging them to pull the plug on this 64-bit version until it is ready for mass consumption. VPaulus tries hard - he is to be commended - but the need to have these kind of instructions in order to install the game is bound to be self-defeating. And that's if they worked, which they do not. My game version is still 5.2.0 and I can play ONLY Panzerkrieg.

Yes, and here is the good news, to some extent. Thanks to a timely PM from Erik, I went through the process one more time and let it come up again. It still said 5.2.0 but this time it offered to auto-patch. I clicked yes and, although it abended, it did patch up to 5.2.2. NOW I can install old (U.S. Pacific) and new (Panzerkrieg) DLC, as you can see.

5.2.2 seems to be the needed fix. Now that it's in place, I am keeping it; that is, as 64-bit. I hope this will help others in this situation and I hope they have an easier time of it.

When you go to update, have you ever tried clicking this button? I believe that is what it is for, in this situation (click the image):

Weird how this is affecting everyone differently.

I just opened the game to see if it would auto-update to 5.2.2. It did, but froze at 100% and I was forced to hard boot my computer. Upon restart, the game shows version 5.2.2 64-bit. I cannot confirm that all scenarios work, of course, but the links/buttons on the map are all active.

I never had to reinstall the game. I have all the DLCs.

Just thought I'd report in in case it might help you in troubleshooting. My PC is running Windows 10 64 bit on a SSD, with games & most software installed on a seperate, internal SATA drive. i7 processor, 16 GB RAM

That was exactly my experience. When I restarted laptop and OOB, though, all was well. "(Version 5.2.2) [64-bit]" was showing at the bottom at the startup screen and the game was operating normally. I am installing all my DLC now with no further difficulty.
