During Allied turn step from Armour near Amsterdam was taken by Allied air attack and Dutch corps repaired back to 8 steps.

Image

Siege going to be slow, but atleast Amsterdam will stop providing supply after couple of turns of attacking/bombing.

And another Allied transport arrives to Amsterdam, as well as regular air/naval attacks occured.

Image

During Axis turn another hex was captured and Amsterdam defenders battered. City going to be ruined soon enough too.

Image

And in the Med Italian BB in Taranto was attacked by British sub. We have repaired battleship and attacked that sub with Italian fighter, which surprisingly landed a hit (expected evasion there).

So french British mech disembarks into Amsterdam and exposed German armoured was reduced to 6 steps by lots of naval and air attacks. And new transport arriving again.

Image

Germans got good rolls against unentrenched Allied unit and reduced it to 1 step right away. Holland going to surrender on the next turn. Transport was halved by air and sub attacks.
Meanwhile German motorized unit secured Denmark. Don't think I will bother with getting Norway in this game... Atleast right now.

Thanks for the AAR. This is typical Morris so far: harass and harass with the British with no thought to the cost. He always treats the UK as expendable, so long as he can distract or drain resources from the Axis.

Maybe one way to make him pay for this strategy is to get aggressive vs convoys. If you sink enough of them, he's going to be in bad shape re: labs, etc.

Well, I will deffinetely try to go for convoys, if my own production will allow to build navy after all that casualties.

Much to my surprise British mech was not evacuated from Holland (Morris told me ruined port did not work).

Image

So we just kill both units and close this campaign.
As a bonus RN battleship was sunk subs.

Image

And something happening in Libya already, as British corps was spotted near border.

During Allied turn usual harassment occured, but atleast now I don't need to keep my units exposed anymore.

Image

British ships from the Med spotted in the channel by the way - probably Allies expected landing in Britain, which is not the case, as you can see.

In Libya attacks already began, with British armoured attacking Italian corps.

Image

During Axis turn Germans leave exposed hexes in Holland, sending units elsewhere. More RN ships spotted, thats entire Med. task force.

Image

In Africa we retreat for now, but reinforcements are already on the way. I am not going to give Allies free ride there.
Italian navy will be sent into action, as there will be no British ships to oppose them.

To my surprise British forces retreat from Tobruk before even first reinforcing units arrived. Well, we can live with it.

Image

Ruhr was bombed by British bombers, but damage was very low. Probably no need to intercept them.

Image

Axis turn:

Reinforcements arriving to Afirca.

Image

And we have forces at Spanish border, ready to attack when the time is right.

Image

Our current plan is to seize both Suez and Gibraltar and try to do closing the Med thing.

In Med , RN sub found the reinforcement to Lybia & inform 8th army to retreat . Actually Axis try to get Said port is normal . But It is so impressive that Axis want to invade Spain ! ( I never thought about it before Spain was invaded !) . I usually believe that Invading Spain is almost an impossible mission & will cost a lot ! But this time , Plaid gave me a new lesson !

This turn escorted convoy was detected and attacked. British DDs don't have any upgrade and possess little threat for subs.

Image

Allied warships spotted, returning to the Med. Might cause problems in our future plans.

Axis forces keep arriving to Africa, we will be able to start attacking soon enough.

Image

And Yugoslavia was DoWed, while weather is still fair. Getting Romania on board early going to help our oil levels, which are not this great.

Image

Conquest of Belgrade going to take couple of turns.

During Allied turn some expected conterattacks occured in Yugoslavia:

Image

Despite mud weather we got good rolls (airpower based in always fair zone helped too) and taken Belgrade right away.

Image

And Axis army in Africa started march on Suez.

Allied naval task force, returning from the Atlantic, was spotted by Italian sub.

Image

Personally I don't think Allies need this many warships, so we are going to prepare ambush for them and sink several:

Image

More unopposed advance in Africa. First objective (Mersa-Matruh) almost in Axis hands.

British navy moves closer, while we prepare even better trap for them. Lots of air and naval units are in range to engage these ships.

Image

In Africa Axis army reached El-Alamein choke point. Still no Allied resistance. Its good they don't know we don't have airpower here.

Our trap works not as good, as intended - looks like both units ran into subs were destroyers.

Image

During Axis turn we managed to sink 1 BB and 1 DD. Another DD was reduced to 1 step and carrier was halved.

Image

In Afirca Axis forces keep advancing into Egypt.

RN units retreat, only sub stays, torpedoing Italian BB.

Image

Axis air units got good rolls against sub, reducing it to 1 step (I used exp units, which have +1 sub combat). Subs failed to make contact with retreating ships, and our surface units returned to ports.

Image

British positions finally spotted in Egypt. Need to wait for more reinforcements and air units before actually attacking here.

Unexpected Allied coutnerattack occured, battering couple of Italian units.

Image

Luckily our own armoured reserves and air units were close enough and we managed to kill British ARM and corps. Its only good they have left their defensive line.

Image

And our subs checked Gibraltar (failed to sink 1 step DD though).

Image

We might try to trap that ships in Gibraltar later.

Remaining Allied units retreat back to eastern bank of Nile.

Image

Axis units are fully ready to attack Spain, will be DoWing them right this turn.

Image

During Axis turn Alexandria was taken and bridgehead across Nile formed by Italian armoured.

Image

Spanish border defences were overran by Axis forces, Bilbao held at 1 step. Large British navy spotted again, no idea where they are going to.

Image

And I am constantly getting "ore intercepted" event. Sent my surface ships to check, whats happening there. Can't be many RN units, as most of them are near Spain anyway.
