Now then now then boys and girls.....

While this thread to date has been ammusing I would suggest that people don't push it. The moderators do have the power to delete messages and if we do then your post count (and rank) will go down as well as up

Give somebody a little bit of power and it goes right to their head. Delete that bully boy :!: I quite liked being a peasant anyway. Better than some hairy german woman that I am at the minute

What do you get to be after the warrior person?

And how many posts does that take?

As far as I have seen thus far, the avatars mostly conform to the unit types in Legion Arena. No Longbowmen, no shooty cavalry; Legion Arena has none.

The renowned Mr Bodley-Scott, before he became one of the FoG Seraphim and got that avatar, had something impressive along the Legion Arena lines, but I don't recall what.

All sorts of questions tho

Do you remember the other avatars you went thru on your way to Aux Cav?

To me, the Aux Cav title seems a little lacking to me (not befitting someone of your station with 12k + posts :P )

Perhaps we could have a choice - dull dreary Legionary Avatar or exciting fun Medieval Avatar

It is probably high time we had an avatar update. Let's have some suggestions for ranks & post counts to achieve those ranks. That could get you some more posts!

PS Admins & moderators dont care about post count as their avatars never change!

That would be neat!

I'm sure there would be differences in opinion on what people would aspire to be.

(e.g. I would think more of being a "Ghilman" while another would preffer "Templar")

Still, something that went more along the lines of troop types that we see in the game would be nice IMO. The current ones are good enough, but could be improved I guess.

Is it possible for people to have some choice in the matter? For example, one might preffer a Roman path (with things like velite/hastati/principe/triari/equite/centurion etc.) while another might like a Crusader path (like pilgrim/spearman/archer/squire/turcopole/knight/templar etc.) Could you have the possibility of having a selection of a set of avatars depending on number of posts? Or is this too complex?

Just a thought. (yes, I am way too concerned about rank!)

Just a little :) There is one path for everyone. It applies to all the forums so can't be too FoG centric.

How about Peasant-Levy-Militia-Crossbowman-Almughavars-Jinetes-Longbowmen-Retinue Bowmen-Knights.
That should cover the Feudal & Middle ages nicely :D

There is another option - the rank remains, but you can change the picture to whatever you want. This is an option with phpbb I believe.

That would be an outrage. Do you really want to play a hun with an attitude at ATC?

From what I have seen it seems like:
0-9 posts = Peasant
10-49 posts = Militia (which I just made)
50-99 = Scout or is it Levy Spearmen
100-149 = Archer
150-199 = Velite
200-299 = Warrior
300-399 = Nobleman
400-499 = Auxiliary
500-599 = Hastati
Veteran somewhere around 800
Princepe over 1000?
Auxiliary Cavalry 1400
Auxiliary Archer 1500
Elephant 3000
Never have so many bowmen shot so many arrows and done so little damage!
