Turn 23. November 14, 1940.
German Move:
Italian Mech swaps into Tobruk. Corp in Benghazi sneaks past the naval blockade and escapes.


Fair weather and Greece is Invaded.
I thought when I showed the two English CVs off the coast of Greece, that would signal the Germans not to invade. I didn't think Morris would, so I was a bit surprised, I had moved the CVs away and I was a bit unprepared for the defense of Greece.

English bring in a CV and two Fighters to Crete. Garrisons also brought in on transports.

Turn 24. December 4, 1940
German Move:
bombs away, four German TACs, one German Fighter and one Italian TAC
Italian Navy actions: sub attacks troop transport in the port in Crete and the BB does a kamikaze mission of fighter suppression, fighter loose one point.


Air war over Greece Germans win 3 English points to 1 German point and 1 Italian.

English Move:
Pull back on the Greek peninsula and drop off Garrisons.
Resistance is futile. I am not even sure if it is even worth trying to fight in Greece, all Allied ground troops are bombed to below red. Attacking bombers and ground troops loose nothing, all it seems to do is give Axis TACs and Axis ground troops experience, maybe the only benefit is that the Axis planes burn oil.

Three English BB's sink the Italian BB, which might be the only good thing we get out of this Greek campaign. So far 2 Italian BB and 1 Italian DD sunk. Also bring in the second English CV into the port of Athens.

Germans kill two Greek Corps and attack Athens, which holds, the attacking German Corp lost a single point which is the first and only ground combat loss in the Greek campaign. The German Corp also became a double veteran. Now Germans can attack Athens with two units.

Russian actions provoke the Germans to send some of the Luftwaffe to Finland, I can see one German fighter, one German TAC and one German SAC in Finland.




Minsk, Riga and Vinnitsa were taken by the axis.

Turn 35. July 12, 1941.
Axis turn. Army Group Center (AGC) Main progress was crossing the Dnepr with axis Armor units killing a Russian Corp and damaging a garrison and cross the Dnepr.


Kiev was taken.


Luftwaffe (TAC and SAC) and two Finnish Corps combine to kill a Russian Corp and break out of pocket.


Russian move:
A little victory for the Russians in Finland, Russian Baltic BB does Fighter suppression on the German Fighter and the Russian Air force takes to the air: Russian Fighter bombs escaping Finish Corp, Finnish Fighter intercepts 1-1 score, then Russian SAC bombs the escaping Finish Corp. Then Russian Corps attack; on the second Corp attack the Finish Corp retreats and it is pocketed again! Two more Russian Corps attacked the pocketed Finish Corp and leave the Finish Corp at 4 steps. Look below; so many Russian Corps in Finland! Though not a great defense of Mother Russia!


On a side note; dogfighting has not started yet on the Russian front but the German Fighters are starting to achieve double veteran status. After the Baltic BB did fighter suppression by shore bombardment the German Fighter became a double veteran, (look at the bottom left corner.) I pity the poor Russian Fighters that have to dogfight that unit, it's bad enough to be behind in fighter tech and down 20-30 effective points, but now the German Fighters are two veteran steps above the Russian Fighters, ouch.

Russians Retreat at full speed in the rest of Russia, note Pskov was also taken by the Germans.

Turn 36. August 1, 1941.
Finland: The two pocketed Finnish Corps, try but can not break out. The Russian Corp in front of the fortification is left at 2 steps, but holds the pocket.


Army Group North a German Corp reach the outskirt of Leningrad. Two German Corps attack a garrison and leave it at 3 steps


Center: Smolensk and Bryansk captured. Russian Corp and Mech pocketed in the Pripyat Marshes when Gomel captured.


South: Karkov, Stalino fall. Two German Mech attack Sevastopol leaving the defending Russian Corp at 2 steps and in the red.

Russian move: In Finland the Russians kill the surrounded Finish Corp near the fortification which was at 3 steps. The Russians pull back around Rzhev, but hold the line at the start of the forest four hex's in front of Moscow.

Turn 37. August 21, 1941.
Finish Corp attack out of the fort and kills a Russian Corp that was at 6 steps. The Finns advance into the hex.


Army Group North forces a garrison to retreat, cutting of Lennigrad.


Army Group Center advances and attacks the main Russian body in front of Moscow and kills two garrisons.


Army Group South captures abandoned Sevastopol and abandoned Rostov. With one attack from a German Mech and probably TAC attacks a freshly built garrison is killed in Kerch.

Turn 38. September 10, 1941.
In Finland Germans/Finns attack a Russian Corp next to the fort and leave it at 2 steps, for only a loss of 1 German step. Germans also bomb a Corp near the rail station at take off 4 steps.


Russians do an all out attack on the two Finnish Corps. The two Finnish Corps receive a total of 9 Russian Corp attacks 1 TAC 1 SAC and 2 Fighters bomb the Finnish Corps, killing one corp and leaving the Corp near the fort at 3 steps. A German and Finish Fighters intercepted the bombers, air combat ensued with two Russian Fighters, which went 4-4. A fifth Russian Fighter attacked a German TAC and achieved 2-0 results. Russian BB did fighter suppression on the second German Fighter. A total of 2 Finnish Corps killed so far in Summer of 41 action and a third Finish Corp the one in front of the fort is on the front line and at 3 steps.


The Germans Army Group Center do not like their current position so they decide to retreat to a more defensive position for the up coming winter.


Russian advance to fill the void and recapture Smolensk.


Russian infantry move forward towards a Romanian held Kursk.


German Mech and Armor with four TACs make a forceful move towards Stalingrad.



Russian move: After losing all of the Ukraine and the Donetsk Basin the Southern Russian Army still have no fight in them and abandon Stalingrad, a shameful loss for the Summer of 41.

The Royal Navy with their whole fleet siting off Gibraltar,


are trying to gain some courage to fight the German navy that rules the North Atlantic.


The English Army and Navy have done nothing in the Med for the whole Summer of 41, while the Royal Navy has had total control of the Med. Not a finger has be lifted to aid the Russians, The Royal Navy has just watched as all the convoys get sunk. A convoy has not made it through since Turn 22. October 25, 1940. The major achievement of the Royal Navy is that it has lost no DD's, cause they sit in ports.
