That would be a pachidermal matter.

Any idea if a decision is close on this one? Just if it is early I'll need to get painting sharpish over the summer!

The details are in the FoG rules pack but the Competitions page still needs to be updated:

Re: Warfare 2015 14/15 November 2015
What sort of armies do you like?
Re: Warfare 2015 14/15 November 2015
Either incredibly vanilla or complete dog/leftfield lists:
Poles
Mongols/Tibetans
LOA Anglo-Dutch
Are all on my painting table right now...
I've used ECW Parliamentary, Hindu Indian and 30 years war Later German in the past.
So anything really.

Re: Warfare 2015 14/15 November 2015
Of those:
Polish/Lithuanian Commonwealth from Clash of Empires would fit.
Tibetan is feasible, Mongol isn't but Tatar has possibilities.
Any of the Indian armies could fit except the Marathas.
ECW/TYW armies are obviously out, but I'm sure nobody would quibble if you used the pike and shot to make up tercios for something like an Early Imperial Spanish.
Early Danish or Late Imperial Austrian from Clash of Empires are definitely worth a look, again the ECW/TYW pike and shot could be used.
I hope that helps.

Samurai has been competitive in this time period in the past, but the tournament conditions require more cavalry than is normally used and you wouldn't be able to maximise the Samurai.

Re: Warfare 2015 14/15 November 2015
My daughter is joining us for her first competition and I want to give her some credible practice games.
Without revealing exactly what you are going to bring can some of you let me know the styles of army you will be bringing or expect to see. That way I can focus practice games on likely styles of opponents she will meet.
Feel free to send them via private message or email me (steads at paveprime dot com).
Thanks
Stephen

Re: Warfare 2015 14/15 November 2015
I expect that these would be a good start:
From Trade & Treachery - Early Imperial Spanish and Huguenots are very likely.
From Clash of Empires - Early Ottoman, Early Danish, Later Imperial Austrian are pretty much certain to turn up. Tatars, Early Russians, Cossacks and Polish/Lithuanian are all quite possible.
From Colonies and Conquest - Ming, Japanese, Hindu or Muslim Indian or Mughal are all possible.
From Cities of Gold the West Sudanese are probably the most likely. Aviz Portuguese is possible.
From Wars of Religion the Later 80YW Dutch or Later Imperial Spanish are feasible.
Anyone trying to use an army from Duty and Glory is going to be disappointed.
