According to the link you posted:
Tempestus Scions, also known as Storm Troopers in Low Gothic, are the elite shock assault troops of the Imperial Guard and the Militarum Tempestus.[1] They are trained to carry out special operations such as deep strike assaults, reconnaissance and infiltration beyond enemy lines. Storm Troopers are the very best soldiers the Guard can call upon, being trained to the peak of human perfection, their combat skills are unmatched.[2]

They are the same unit, so yes, the Tempestus Scions did serve in the second battle for armageddon.
it's not: there is why slitherine has not been allowed to place in the game.
Every single unit, audio effect, etc etc etc need the approval of Game workshop.

All videogame developer that is working on war 40k ganmes have the same problems: the space hulk developer can have only genestealer for enemy because GW don't allow them to use ork or chaos.

we will never read a developer complain about that: they can't do because GW own the license.

But it's clear that in a game with more than 300 units something iconics is missing it's only because GW don't allowed them to place in the game.

That's copyright gone mad if true! Stormtroopers were not invented by George Lucas: they've been around since at least the end of World War I: http://www.worldwar1.com/arm011.htm. And I expect that's where he got the name from. Perhaps the Bundeswehr should sue Disney, or perhaps GW can license the name directly from the Bundeswehr :).
it's not a problem of copyright vs other. The problem was that GW can't copyright stormtroppers because it's a common term, like they can't copyright imperial guard: so they created an high gothic name for all so they can register the high gothic name.

Thanks for clarifying. I read about it on 4d1chan and it was a bit of a rant against GW, so wasn't sure of it.

Anyway it will be nice to see Ogryns although hopefully they are suitably tough!

Regardless Storm Troopers and Orgyns are iconic, long standing Guard units, their absence from the unit roster is certainly a mark against the game, no matter what the reason. If you make a racing game and include every iconic car but Ferrari's for example; as a customer do I blame you or Ferrari? Bottom line, something that buyers are expecting to be in the game isn't, Perhaps people should be blaming GW instead of Slitherine but that's really just semantics.

Hopefully once the map editor is fixed perhaps we can look forward to a mod that will add some of these popular but missing units back to the game. (On a side note, The recent Space Hulk game only has Genestealers because that's how the original board game was played...Terminators vs. Genestealers. The game simply didn't have any other enemies.)

Guys, games are made for money, and in times of costly DLCs/Addons you are going to be fed bit by bit - or in this game here unit by unit.
I can tell you that at least two Ogryn units were originally in the game but files got removed, as their remarked stats are still there in in the unittypes.whdat file with ripper gun as weapon. I bet you are going to get them, scions, eldars, chaos and what not, but in time so have patience (and some money left).
It looks like there are already some modders busy creating new graphics like it is still done in Panzer Corps for years. Everything will show up sooner or later, either officially or inofficially.
