Re: Britcon 2014 - introducing the Nemesis Challenge
I fear that match up may have to wait David - time for some other troops to be allowed out of their box.
The Early Period does appear to be more popular though - I wonder if it is the smaller table size?

It will be good to see you there Paul.
Have you entered for Roll Call yet? Only 2 tickets left. Don't leave it too late.

Re: Britcon 2014 - introducing the Nemesis Challenge
We've got even numbers in 15mm at Roll Call, but odd numbers in 25mm at the moment - so on the assumption that if worst comes to worst someone can be persuaded to swap from 25 down to 15's, an extra entry in either would be good

Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
Roll Call is now sold out, with another record attendance for a BHGS event this year.
So far we already have 90 players registered for Britcon, so potentially we are on track for another sellout in Manchester as well, partly as we have a couple of large demo games coming into the trade space, which will mean we have slightly fewer gaming tables in the larger hall.
Of the 90, 32 of those are in FoGAM - the early period proving twice as popular as the later one (as of today).
Looking at the list of entries for The Worlds, I can also currently only see one out of the 9 UK players who are booked in to go to Germany who hasn't yet booked into Britcon as yet... so plenty of chances for everyone to play Ruddock that fortnight!

Largely due to the excellent communication and ease of booking I suspect.Roll Call is now sold out, with another record attendance for a BHGS event this year.
A great result Tim - well done to you and the rest of the BHGS team!

I'll be doing my entry for the late period today. If he gets his arse into gear (typical teenager/student speed of action) son David will probably be in the early period.

Excellent - the sooner people can book up the easier it makes it for us, especially in terms of planning accommodation and room hire with the venue.
It also should mean you get cheaper accommodation if you are booking outside the Uni block too

Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
One of the UKs current "top 3" ranked players is currently looking likely to miss Roll Call next weekend because the competition sold out before he booked his place....!
In unrelated mathematical quiz-shaped news, 110 players are now booked for Britcon, 95 have not yet rebooked out of last years attendees, last year was a sellout with 166 players, and we may have a few less tables this year due to a big demo game coming in.
Hmmm...

Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
Graham snuck in...
Anyways, it's been suggested that another benefit of running the Nemesis Challenge on Friday night is that some people can arrange to start (and end) their games earlier, thus getting another night out in Manchester. The venue should be available from just before lunchtime on Friday, so you have plenty of time to arrange a game, play it and get away before the evening rush - whether this will help in the morning after I'm not sure...

No Americans on that list as yet.
It would be nice to see "The Emporer" again. Will also be nice to catch up with Brett Kvisle and the other Antipodeans. Hopefully Shaun Drummond and Glenn will be making it over, I guess it depends!

Should I challenge my nemesis The Emperor to a match or wait until 2015?

As he hasn't entered yet you might struggle? Although there is still time, he has entered for Germany - which is still an option for you too?Should I challenge my nemesis The Emperor to a match or wait until 2015?![]()

I believe the Nemesis Challenge is only open to international players.petedalby wrote:As he hasn't entered yet you might struggle? Rob probably assumes that Yorkshire is a different country to the rest of England...

Selective reading again Dave?I believe the Nemesis Challenge is only open to international players.
Seems to me it's open to all? But you are in the Ancient period so no opportunity there.....good to see Phil has stepped up to Medieval though. For those of you who may be considering a visit to the UK for Britcon this August, we are toying with the idea of allowing either all players (or maybe just the overseas players?) in their FIRST game on FRIDAY evening (game 1) to play a "Nemesis Challenge" round - where you are free to agree before the tourney with a named opponent that you will play them in that game, as the first round is not seeded anyway

As far as i understood he is not coming to Britcon this year. But, you might try calling for him, he likes that so muchpetedalby wrote:As he hasn't entered yet you might struggle?
