Who would do such a thing?!!
Not you this time!

It was one of the funnier moments in the game, a BG entered the rough going and then turned 180 - to run away, the knights rode up to within charge range and the BG in the right failed its cmt.

They then had to move out of the rough going or stay put and get charged in the rear. They chose the former, which meant they got ridden down the turn after :)

Well, I think with a big army with lots of undrilled MF you have to accept that some will get caught in the open or fail a critical CMT and you'll lose 2 or 3 units. with the unit in question (but don't tell them) the thinking was partly that I'd rather have your victorious knights a further 4MU from the main army.

A big thank you to Tim, David and everyone else who organised an excellent weekend of wargaming for us all.

I had five really great games vs Dave, Malcolm, Dave R, Graham and Andy - thanks guys.

Andy went into the last game as clear leader and not having had a single BG rout in his 4 previous games but some really poor dice on his part and some spectacular shooting dice on my part conspired against him.

Hope to see everyone again at Campaign or Roll Call.

Cheers

Well done Pete. A great weekend of games in. Thanks BHGS.

And unusually I didn't fight 2 or more armies from the same list

Well done the organisers and runners and list checker for another excellent event.

I had 5 really good games against a mixture of old friends (Rob Taylor, Wayne Dare, Pete Dalby) and new friends (Steve Brown and Lee Sanders). Particularly good to see Steve and Lee at the competition (no disrespect to those who have been coming for many years) as it's always good to play new people, especially two such frindly guys.

Well done Pete for winning!

I had 9 generals killed over the five games. Unsurprisingly following this I finished mid-table somewhere.

I did manage to kill three of my own though, but one of them was irrelevant (It was an ally and I'd just destroyed all of his troops...).

My dice were fairly poor for the majority of the games except against Lynda and Dave Handley. But considering Dave Handley was using Classical Indian and I was using Serbian, it didn't help me much except keep the score respectable...

Thanks for a great weekend to all involved and thanks to my 5 opponents: Graham Briggs, Lance Flint, Paul Johnson, Richard Jeffrey Cook and Graham Evans for 5 great games.

P.S. Can I ask Santa for an easier draw next year.

How did you find his force? Was there a unique employment or did you just get tusked to death.

How many BGs of Knights did you have? All Armored?

He had 6 Armoured - I think the rest was mainly LH with some LF bow and firearms. 13 BGs if I recall.

Dave uses the strengths of the Indians and doesn't get distracted by the shiny stuff.

6 bg's of smellies and loads of bow. Some stuff for rear support. 15 bg's in total.

I killed 3 bg's of smelliest and 2 others but got tusked in the end. Ironically, dave throwing a 1 probably cost me the game... His elephants broke and only went 2" meaning my knights were sat right in front of a huge amount of now. Anything other than a one and I would have heaved into him steady :(
