Hi Fogman -
If there's still room, I'd like to play and run the Seljuks.

NO TAILORING OF ARMIES. You have to use the same order of battle for all your challenges. (the rule is 'traditional' to the series, not just made up, although i'd do that too!)
Remember to pick the right year for your army, and be mindful of the restrictions. Open a DAG hot seat game to check everything is correct.
GOOD LUCK everyone and keep it sane. You have 3 weeks to finish the first round.

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

First Blood:
Egyptians (flatsix518) 24/36 vs. Byzantines (ulyssisgrunt) 37/34
I got some pretty good dirt on which to fight the K-Byz. Those superior drilled knights aren't so bad if some of your fights with them can be on steep cliffs. They really weren't much of a factor in the game. Our real battle was between my Mamluks and his Ghilmans and lancers.
Thanks for the game, Danny.

Re: LORDS OF THE HOLY LAND circa 1100 AD
I was too aggresive; my usual fault. I took his camp and then assaulted troops on a steep hill with mounted!!!!
At times I think I'm the "John Bell Hood" of wargaming!
A great game.

Egyptians (flatsix518) 18/36 vs. Syrians (kmaher) 39/37
Again I got a field with quite a bit of steep cliff on it. It seems that very open battlefields these days aren't what they used to be.
This battle was actually pretty even up to about halfway. Then the Egyptians began to walk away with it...

I'm picking up my challenges over the next couple days. My wife is a teacher and this is the last week of school. A bit chaotic, but I'll be locked in by the weekend.
