Fair point. Wirbelwind is probably late war... Do you remember what the 1942 German AA was? I'll copy it over to our squads.csv

And the Germans will have four to six 152mm Coastal Guns, which can cripple a Hunt class with one shot... Wouldn't get too cocky!

I'm sure it was the Operation SeaLion AAs (Can't remember name) and for those 4-6 152s depends where you place them either on the Beach or further inland

Ok, job for you! Can you find out how this is handled in Husky?

I've looked in Sicily's squads.csv and the LCI's/LCT's aren't there... so they're animations rather than actual units, from the looks of it...

Worst case, we could use DUKWs as pretend LCTs... Not ideal, but it would work...

On and one more thing I found in Normandy Ninjas can you numb down the 152MM and Destroyers bombards so certain death isn't always the result?

It was mobile but make it static it was the German Bofors AAs except with armor so infantry can't destroy it so easily. May have to ask Pip or Ian to ask how it's handled like in Husky. And yes it was more of an animation but maybe you can make an LCT that can carry tanks :D if possible

Hehe LM, you obviously (still) haven't read our previous comment swap on bombards (see below), have you? :P :P :P
GottaLove88s wrote:Thanks LandMarine...

Agreed that destroyer/Vorpostenboote bombard attacks are too effective. My rationale for the first cut was that RN destroyers should be more powerful than Tigers (in reality, S-class HMS Scorpion had 4x 120mm guns, Hunt-class Talybont and Tanatside had 4x 100mm guns, Vorpostenboote carried 88s, Tigers also carried 88s), so I set the APattack values with that in mind. The problem is that BA handles bombard attacks by defaulting to the APattack value in full, and that's too much for a bombard. However, I believe that I can dial that down by adding extra data to the squads.csv file, so expect that in the next update to GJS'44 and Ninjas. See discussion here -> viewtopic.php?f=104&t=42251

For now, my recommendation would be to remember that ships are BIG targets, which make them easy for 152mm coastal guns, 88s and even 75s to take a pop at, especially side on. Also, if you haven't tried it yet, they really don't like off map artillery drops. However, as you would expect, their AA defence is high.

St Nazaire & Dieppe. Operation Jubilee eh? Have you got any maps and photo recon of the battle areas? Plus some details on army/naval orders of battle and unit types for both sides? If you do, let's experiment. Sounds like a good one to add to the Normandy Ninjas package (if that's acceptable to you? :D ) Btw, did you know that the crossword clue "French port" appeared in the Daily Telegraph on August 17th, '42, with the solution "Dieppe" on the 18th, and the raid itself on the 19th...

Bofors was the Brit AA, but I guess you mean the SdKfz 10/4 flak, right?

Sure, we can chuck in a couple of those, but it wouldn't be realistic to up armour them, so a wise Kommandant isn't going to park them anywhere in range of destroyer bombardment...

Ok, your mission impossible, if you choose to accept it, is to find out how this was done... If it's easy to copy, we will... If it isn't then we'll have to cheat with DUKWs... No Donald Ducks for this one...

The mobile 37mm should work fine...it is used in some of the early games of BA...forget the actual name...will dig it up

I believe this is the one used in BA...Sd Kfz 6/2 (single 37mm)

From what I have read...they were at other landing sites that we are not incorporating into the map. I would say a battery of 3 off to the Axis East flank area a n victory flag and say 2 (or 1) around the beach area?

If anything I would think they would be around the coastal guns protecting them
