B DIVISION

fogman (khurasanian saminids) 19/38 vs londo (bedouin hamanids of aleppo) 50/45

the bedouins sent their numerous medium impact foot through a large cultivated area where they clashed with their saminid counterparts. The fight went back and forth, spilling onto an adjoining hill. A flanking manoeuvre by a group of ghilman turned the tide. In the open area on the saminid left, a mass of bedouin lancers and foot archers were showered with arrows from ghilman and then wrecked by armoured spears and elephants.

Gday all
Tom has the recording Spread sheets ready to go ,thanks mate :D So if we could all follow the instuctions and make sure all results are recorded correctly.

Results Instructions:

Each workbook has three tabs, Player & Army Details (locked), League Results, and League Table (locked). You need to enter your results on the League Results tab.

PLEASE ONLY ENTER DATA TO THE LEFT OF THE BLACK BOXES!!!!!! I have entered most of the results posted so far so you have examples of how to do this. Everything to the right of the black boxes are calculated fields and they feed the results to the League Table for scoring.

As Tom has indicated he has recorded most of the results so far so take a look if your results arnt there then please fill them in :)

Uheng1997 (Ghaznavid) 22/32 vs zumHeuriger (Bedouin-Iqualyids) 36/36

This was a very open table with a little bit of terrain on the extreme flanks. There was a typical cavalry battle in the center and right where the cav met on impact in neat lines, but then the neat lines fell apart and a swirling cavalry melee developed with the Ghaznavids coming out on top. On the left a line of Arab lancers charged the Ghaznavid's supporting armored Dailamis (supported by an Elephant). Lancers won the impact, but the ensuing melee went to the foot/elephant combo.

thanks for the great game...

Cheers,
Chris.

Gday Okie
Ive had a look at the Darkages recording spread sheet and noticed you havent recorded your results, Could you please do this as soon as possible as it is your responsibility to record your battle results. Players please make sure you record your results or you may miss out on crucial points.

Div A

ianiow (Armenians) 23/53
lysimachos (Slavs) 50/43

Fought on the slopes of a mountain. The Slav lancers heroically held a 3 hex wide mountain pass against heavy knights all game, preventing the Armenians from sweeping around the Slavic rear. But lower down the slopes the Slavic MF has little protection from enemy arrows and the lancers were outmatched by heavier enemy cavalry. Lysi made the most of the terrain but the armies were mismatched.

Div A

ianiow (Armenians) 12/48
Tiavals (Dailami) 35/35

A strange battle. The Armenian knights entire deployment area was rough, rocky slopes. The MF dailami were deployed in bare open plains. So as the Armenians rushed to the flat ground, the Dailami rushed to the rocky slopes! They met somewhere in the middle.

Division C Result:

Bagration - Arab Conquest 21/47 v. Uheng1997 - Ghaznavid 34/32

The wily mullah had a little too much wine when building his list and neglected to run the warriors as shooter. No matter! He chose the battlefield whilst sober and was able to use a stream and marsh to divide the field and contain the Ghazis. Thus herded, the cats fought hard and bravely, but the Arabs proved too much in the end. Thanks for the game Chris.

Note to self. Drink less, focus more.

Division B

Post by Londo »

Londo (Bedouin, Hamdanid of Aleppo) 44/45 vs Solly (Early Crusader 1096-1097) 54/50

I won by the narrowest possible margin! In fact I shouldn't really have won at all, but I got a burst of luck right at the end.

I chose the map and picked one with lots of close terrain for my impact MF. That gave me a big advantage, but I almost threw it away with an awful deployment. Solly capitalised on that well to rout my left flank forces, threaten my camp, and scatter my poor camp followers.

My hordes of Bedouin cavalry were useless -- worse than useless, in fact, with their repeated suicidal anarchy charges against knights and spearmen. I will have to completely rethink how I use them.

In the last turn the dice went all my way, as some of the surviving camp followers unexpectedly stood up to Crusader knights -- doing better than the damned Bedouin lancers had!
