And theres me choosing Scots Covenanter because I didn't think they'd be many Scots, should have seen how many cavaliers I could get in a list

Actually we have 5 of the top 8 - Alasdair, Paddy, Dave A and the "Two Dons"!timmy1 wrote:And we have 4 of the 8 top ranked FoGR players in the UK in the draw.
Plus there are some serious "bandits" in Jim, Brian and Dave S (Ancients Usk winner 2013) and not forgetting that Gordon, Keith, Martin, Chris, Geoff and Ray are no mugs either!!
Last thought to Tim P - if you wanted to keep all the Central Londoners apart, shouldn't your draw have matched Martin vs Peter and Ray vs Geoff?!
See you all Sunday (complete with jet lag but a glorious Mauritian tan!,

good grief!! anyone who thinks i'm a bandit is sorely mistaken. (although i appreciate the "puff"). my result at Usk was entirely due to phil powell. for a truer reflection of my abilities ask gordon how i did (or didn't do) at campaign.
hehehe.

You are correct - my typo. Jim I know and it has always surprised me that he is not ranked higher... As for the others, the weekend will tell.

I would also like to echo that. It was a great comp and a fun day. Wish I had taken the Covenantor 1644 Great and Close Siege of York option rather than the 1643 Parliamentarian list... (I have the figures for it as well...)

Re: Southern League - The ECW (and a bit), London Round May
A hugely enjoyable day with the games, camaraderie and (for me at least) a great result, enhanced by beer and curry - wargaming heaven!!!
Many thanks to Tim P for organising and running the day and for some awesome Trophies with the "Oliver Cromwell Shilling" Trophy holding pride of place on my Wargaming table. Also thanks to some great games against Dave (I've got 9 artillery bases in my Scots Covenanters) Allen and Don (The Don) McHugh - I definitely got lucky against Don (The Don) where in one round with about 6 equal melees ongoing, Don (The Don) didn't win a single one of them!!!
Next up - Southampton - what to take is the question as there will be lots of French and Alasdair using Irish with not a horseman in sight!!!

Great weekend in London.
Thanks to Tim for organising, Chris for putting me and Vicki up the night before, and to Don and Dave for two really good games.
Oooohh almost forgot to mention the excellent lunchtime curry.
Looking forward to next year.
