It would be nice if the system allowed you to try to immobilize tanks rather than kill them. Both with AT guns as well as bazookas/piats/etc. In WWII once it was learned that low caliber guns could not kill a large tank AT crews and others focused on what they could do. It was relatively easy to damage the treads/wheels of a tank with a close side shot. And of course once the calibers were too low to even immobilize a tank then the guns were abandoned all together.
You could even make the odds higher of immobilizing a tank that was known to break down more frequently to eliminate the goofy, "I'm immobilized" event. I hate game rules that attempt to solve a problem with something that seems implausible. If a vehicle broke down in combat the odds are that it was done - it generally would not suddenly work again a minute later. The game effect of having a vehicle "break down" at random moments just takes control of the game out of the players hands and assigns it to a random event generator. By allowing for the permanent immobilization of a tank via game play then you make super tanks more vulnerable, mid-range AT guns more useful and eliminating the randomness of the immobilization.

Seeing the crew bail out and become an infantry unit also makes sense. The firing unit should also include MG fire as they do this as a means to shoot down the crew as they emerge.
I also would advocate being Commander Exposed or Buttoned Up too. Buttoned up vehicles were not able to react to incoming fire as well. Not sure about the accuracy of fire either being a factor.

MERR put out something called 'Track Hit', wold allow the 'bail out' feature for tanks and also allow infantry to 'capture' at guns. Prett neat but not sure where it ended up?ecombarton wrote:It would be nice if the system allowed you to try to immobilize tanks rather than kill them. Re: Killing a King Tiger...
Gentlemen, I've modified the Meeting Engagement map to give you new ways to level the odds to kill those KT beasts... essentially it's the same awesome map, but combined US/Brit Allies now get access to 17 pdr AT gun (instead of the feeble 6 pdr), Sherman Fireflies (closer to Panther but not quite there), and up to eight transports (to set the smoothest of ambushes)... More info on viewtopic.php?f=87&t=35532... It's a first attempt so won't be perfect, but would really appreciate any feedback so I can fix/improve. Thanks!

Haha, lol, totally agree BG, go where the bad boys aren't... the issue mostly came up because earlier versions of some of the high-budget force selection maps, eg. Meeting Engagement, occasionally ended up with somebody choosing a force that included 6 or 7 Tiger IIs, and a few infantrymen to spot for them... at that point, they became harder to avoid...
...Iain's wisely prevented that with repricing... and newer versions reward greater force mix over sheer brute force alone...
