Playability is going to be more important than dwelling on details....at least for now. What is "fun" is relative to the individual. I will comment on specifics as I dive into this new game.

Automatic moves would be a way to achieve it, but we do not have any support for this functionality yet.

I don't think there is any reason for anyone to get upset. There is plenty of room for SC2 and Commander - Europe at War. There is no need to get in to a "my favourite game is better than your favourite game" debate :)

I recently played SC2 for a bit and enjoyed it. I also greatly enjoyed GGWAW. Each game has a different angle and all have their place!

IMO the Soviet occupation of Poland/Baltic States is an acceptable compromise for a first release BUT I do have reservations about the actual front line.

The 1939 deployment shows the front extending north from Brest Litovsk and then north west to the East Prussian border, the problem is the historical front line was not like this!. It followed the course of the Bug river north west from Brest, then north to Prussia, then east almost to the city of Grodno, then north west.

So the 1939 front line does not have the Bailystock salient or the Suwalki salient, the latter important because it is the start location for the 3rd Panzergruppe and has the Soviet forces in the Bailystock salient already effectively outflanked. I would post an image showing the problem but this does not appear to be possible.

p.s. will be buying the game and looking forward to a manageable russian front without hundreds of counters!

OK, you can post images so lets try this.

the 4 red hexes are Soviet and should be garrisoned. The blue hex is the Suwalki salient and is german.

I'll have to refer this one to the scenario design team as this is not my area of expertise!

Gee, we are not going to turn the earth upside down just for 2-3 hexes of frontline

On the other hand if it's just 2-3 hexes it can be fixed really quick.

If it is easy to fix why not fix it!. Others are just going to complain when the game is released, they always do. Historically the Soviets had 8 Rifle Corps along the border between the Baltic Sea and Brest, so the right number of units is there and the 3 corps in 3rd and 10th armies were forward in the Bailystock salient, just ripe for picking!

Another question - how will be the Finnish Winter War depicted?
