Div Grossdeutschland ready for action
to make myself clear...only elite and specific units get these logos in order to identify them on the map cause once lost they are lost :D
they have better stats than their vanilla counterpart but better flank them with expendable units in order to avoid them being surrounded and attacked to often a turn and destroyed

The ideas of using the switch function is very good. It might also be useful to know it is not restricted to 2 units - as long as the loop is closed you can have any number of switches. The problem, if it is a problem, is that the AI will not be able to use such advanced features and will be stuck responding to your brilliance with, well, less than brilliance! I use a lot of (what I call) hold units for the AI - they have an MV of zero and so can be given an AI action of Hold, Active and yet not leave their entrenchment. It's not ideal but I find it works better than the standard approach.

Keep it up - looking great...

thnx...
yeah..its right that the ai can not respond to these things but giving the circumstance that the player will have to go to the defense after winter42 he surely will find these static positioned inf very handy :D ....its a pity that the scriptlanguage is not a bit more ample and exported to a txt.file in order to write scripts instead of using the unhandy editor...same goes for the ai files and unit behavior...exporting this to a .csv would let people mod them and change behavior to certain extend so it would be great to be able to inflluence the ai purchase bahavior giving situation x...
as well a few more generic working strings for unit classes and terrain slots in the exe would be of great addition..as well the equipment for upgrade window does not show bonus units nor units of allied countrys...
there is still room for improovement of the engine but it will do just fine for now

Btw: The Sturmtiger is made from Puma...and he's not very amused that you use it without asking him before. Pumas icon thread is deleted, but the comment-thread is open yet. Here you can ask him if you want to use icons from him: http://www.designmodproject.de/forum/vi ... &start=390

This is a bit OT but the issue is important IMO. My assumption has always been that if a modder puts their work in a downloadable format and they are cited with doing that work, it is not necessary to ask before using their work. It might be good manners, of course. I have used a few of Puma's stuff in Maelstrom and will ask him for permission to do so, but it would be useful to have that requirement articulated when publishing material.

hmmm...I could understand that people get annoyed when others use their work (as tiny as it can be) and present that for their own
stuff but this is just a great pity as I credited him.
As well I used one of your skins and credited you, so really whats the problem ? People who make skins/models should be grateful to see their models in projects and get credited so their name gets recognized, if not, for what the heck they would make the models in the first place? The same way scenario makers should be grateful for the people making these models as otherwise projects can become impossible to make due to the amount of work involved...its a win-win,isnt it ?
Anyway I will pass by as Iam registered at DMP,no problem...so do I have to ask you seperate permission or can I assume that you are fine with seeing your skins used and giving you credit since you said nothing about your Tiger II skin ?....
And while Iam at it why are these issues not dealt with by PM rather then trying to rebuke people in public ?...just asking

Yeah..thats what the original unwritten laws was and it was widely accepted in literally all comunitys but the old ways are not honored anymore...It seems I just get old... :D

That's it,people....good manners. I guess, no modder would say no, but it's a kind of respect to ask before anyone use others work.
Otherwise you do a good job,chris. :D

I am strained, if you can set all german Infantry Divisions and also all soviet units in the same historical view !
Also the map - scale !

H.Balck

Iam afraid that would take forever so only elite units getting special attention as well as a few Luftwaffe wings..this is for immersion...
but I can guarantee that the strength of both sides is calculated in mathmatical comparison and the german starting units will be the correct division numbers. and/or names..same holds true for reinforcements and overall unit numbers...
still the engine can not model a division on all its levels as this would lead to an overwhelming amount of units on the map so I have to use mathematical comparisons and statistical numbers in order to determine unit amount. On the other side I have to keep an eye on the unit composition in order to amke sure all unt classes are represented and have their purpose for the player.
The library will carry the scaling tables, overall numbers (rounded) and all other relevant info

As for soviet units..the overall number will be relatively correct but I wont bother with their specific names as there are simply not enough sources in german, english or spanish language wtih complete unit lists and division numbers...and Iam afraid this would be more work than one man can pull out within 2-3 months which is the goal on this project cause I wanna play this beast as much as others and not getting lost in irrelevant details which are not important for proper gameplay

yeah..rezaf skins are very good conducted as they dont harm unit detail as this may sometimes be the case in other models...
glad he had done these otherwise I could not make this up the way I want...best way to thank him for them is to put them to good use and make a
god mod which people do enjoy... :)

I fully agree. I've tried to do my best to keep the detail, but it's impossible in some cases. Yesterday I despaired with a T-26. The way rezaf do, through a tool, he's the perfect way to apply a camouflage.
All of us who apply textures using 2D paint programs cannot compete with that.
I hope one day that tool will be mad available. And knowing rezaf and his commitment to this community , I think one day it will end up be.
I wonder what kind of algorithms he's using. Although I'm not good at mathematics, I love to know the principles.
