Our plan in the south was discovered and countered with massive axis assault - lost a mech unit there, while axis left Maikop-Krasnodar area and will need to capture it back if ever.

Still Stalingrad should hold for a while

It didnt happen for the entire summer, why should it happen now?Cybvep wrote:Your northern defence line looks brittle. I wouldn't be surprised if Morris trashed your units there and encircled Moscow.
I agree with Plaid. By the looks of it Morris has pulled back for the winter. Morris has one 1-turn left of guaranteed fair weather and due to the fog of war doesn't know Plaid's strength there. If he was planning an attack he'd likely have his air units more forward to recon the area. He doesn't and his front line units are depleted infantry and mech corps.Plaid wrote:It didnt happen for the entire summer, why should it happen now?Cybvep wrote:Your northern defence line looks brittle. Well, soviets are near 75% manpower, but germans are already below.Diplomaticus wrote:Better watch your Soviet manpower. Taking the massive losses you've had, it's going to be tough to stay above 75%, even for the Russians.
About the invincible paratrooper. Think about the defense of Bastogne!
I had noted, that when I play with skilled allied player I cant use my german subs properly anyway, no matter how many I have. Allies get their DD system working by mid - 1941 and get bomber cover, so convoy attacks cost axis more than it gives. When you get 2 destroyer attacks and bomber hit its really unattractive to touch that convoys. Only chance is to set a trap and make convoy run into it during its own turn, so you will not get destroyer hit. Downside is that you always risk to catch destroyer insteadStauffenberg wrote:This is another downside of Morris not building more submarines and using them as an active heavy.
The western Allies don't need to bother with building more naval units and can focus on more air and ground units. The transports can sail across the Atlantic with no fear of being sunk. That means the Allied offensive can start earlier.
When I play as the Allies I build a healthy number of naval units so I can escort all my transports. That means a later offensive, but my transports will always be safe.
So I believe it's very important for the Axis to be present in the Atlantic with 6+ subs with some tech upgrades. The Allies should fear the wolfpacks so you need to use them to attack convoys and strike against transports.
