In fact the third time around I watched as (2) Tks formations litterly ripped my PzK 38t into scrap metal. (WTF!)
Roman Edmund Orlik, a Polish Army sergeant, was a tank ace who knocked out 13 German tanks (one PzKpfw IV Ausf B and two PzKpfw 35(t) among them) with his light TKS tankette armed with 20mm automatic gun on September 18th, 1939. Next day on September 19th, 1939 he knocked down seven PzKpfw 35(t)
I've been reading these forums since purchasing the game and thought I'd say a quick hello in this thread, mainly because I'm right there with whiterook in being fairly pants at the game.
Found it far too easy at the sergeant level but as soon as I move up all hell breaks loose! After having read a lot of the advice on these forums I've now re-launched myself into the DLC '39 campaign. Still really struggling, but at least I'm getting the marginal victories now rather than losing. The biggest tip I've taken is the realisation of how rubbish the early panzers were if you use them for frontal assaults. I am now only using two panzers in the Polish campaign and using them more as recon style units to get round the back and finish the Poles off with sneaky attacks from behind.
Also using a far greater mix of units and picked useful tips about mobile artillery.
So yes, there are a few of us rubbish players out there but we are still having lots of (occasionally humiliating) fun!
This game has been an excellent re-introduction to my boardgaming roots, hopefully move on to some of the more complex games soon, but whilst I'm struggling with this game I'll be sticking with Panzer Corps for a while yet.
Just a couple of questions,
People refer to the core units, I take it by this you mean the units you initially deploy?
..and likewise the auxiliary units, these are the ones given to you at the start of the scenario that are already deployed?
Core units are the gold strength border forces that follow you from scenario to scenario during a campaign. Yes you deploy these.
Auxiliary units are grey strength border forces that are pre-placed on the map, do not follow you to your next scenario, and are often related to your objectives in the DLC campaigns.

Thank you for the answer. Thought that was the case but wanted to check I wasnt reading all the tips and tactics wrongly.

Ooops, sorry and thanks.
Actually, I think a lot of people don't read the stickys, maybe the name I gave to that thread was not the best.
So when I mentioned the thread is just a heads-up.
Maybe re-word it All your Game Play and Game Mechanics Questions Answered Here and give it some vibrant color? (I'm not trying to be a Richard Cranium ,,just trying to help people see it )
Then maybe ask admin to move it to the top of the common forum .
I honestly think some people really don't see it
